You may notice that some of our Vinyasa classes feel familiar from week to week.
That’s intentional.

Many of our teachers choose to work with a repeated base sequence for a period of time, while layering in different themes, pacing, and points of focus. This allows students to move beyond figuring out what’s coming next and into noticing how the practice feels — in the breath, the body, and the moment.

Familiarity can support confidence, learning, and choice, especially for students who are newer to Vinyasa or who appreciate a steadier rhythm to their practice.

There are many valid ways to teach Vinyasa.
This is simply one of the ways we support our students here.

In 2024, Serenity made another move — not just to a new address, but into a fuller expression of who we’ve become.

Making space meant room to grow, room to connect, and room to practice in ways that feel more accessible, more supportive, and more true to our values. More offerings. More voices. More ways to show up exactly as you are.

Same heart.
A little more room to breathe.

Have you visited our new space yet?

We didn’t change much.
Just rotated, reached, and paid attention.
Repetition isn’t about doing less.
It’s about noticing more.

Curious what that feels like in your own body?
Join us for a Vinyasa class and experience it for yourself.

Waterfall Pose is often treated like a “just lie there” shape — but how you’re holding your body makes all the difference.

In the first two images, the legs lift without core engagement. The low back collapses, the legs feel heavy, and the work shifts into the hip flexors. The pose might look similar, but many of the benefits are lost.

In the final image, the core is gently engaged. The low belly draws in and up, the low back feels supported, and the legs lengthen with intention rather than effort. This engagement allows the legs to straighten more easily, reduces strain in the hips, and creates a feeling of lightness instead of tension.

Waterfall isn’t about muscling your legs higher — it’s about support, awareness, and intelligent effort.
Less force. More connection. More benefit.

A reminder that even in simple shapes, how we show up matters.

Serenity Yoga began in 2008, in a small studio above E’s on Main Street in Middletown. What started as a few classes became something much bigger — shaped by the people who practiced inside its walls.

From Main Street, to Summit Bridge Road, to new leadership in 2021, each chapter added another layer to what Serenity would become.

Part two is where the next chapter begins.
