This by no means is a post suggesting you shouldn’t have health insurance.
It’s one of those things thats better to have and not need rather than need and not have.
That being said, it doesn’t always serve you in a way that “benefits” you.
Many people pay a significant amount of money each year for health insurance, only to have to pay even more before the insurance company chips in, sometimes only covering a percentage of the costs.
Having paid so much for the insurance, those same people may elect to work with a provider that takes their insurance but end up not considering the quality of service they’re getting.
If you have the resources to do so, it can be far more beneficial for you to pay cash for services as these types of providers have the ability to give you the time and attention you deserve by not having to jam a bunch of appointments on their schedule.
They don’t work to get paid by the insurance company, they work for you.
That’s like you being able to chose the contractor for a home remodel instead of your home owners insurance telling you who you can use.
One may be cheaper, but the other one may be a better fit with a better product.
Cash pay for healthcare isn’t feasible for everyone but if you have the means for it, it can provide far more “benefit” than your using your health insurance.
