In honor of National Blood Donor Month, we asked our donors one simple question: “Why do you donate blood?” ❤️ And all month long, you filled our walls — and our hearts — with your answers.

Every note represents a life touched, a family helped, and a community that cares deeply for one another. Thank you to everyone who shared their “why” and, more importantly, rolled up their sleeve to save lives.

Here are just a few of the reasons our donors show up.

🚨 URGENT NEED: O- & O+ BLOOD DONORS 🚨

Donate your type O blood by 2/12 and receive a $10 e-gift card as our thank you! Our inventory of O-negative and O-positive blood is at critically low levels. These blood types are critical for emergencies and trauma care, and we need your help to ensure patients receive the care they need. Registration required: bit.ly/4q70ZgW.

Three generations of women from the Rios family answered the urgent call to donate blood, continuing a powerful family tradition of saving lives.

Pictured left to right are Alma Rios, her granddaughter Ariana Rivera, and her daughter Gina Vega. Alma started this lifesaving legacy back in 1988. Gina followed in her footsteps, becoming a regular donor in 1997, and Ariana proudly made her first donation in 2022.

Here’s to every family creating a tradition of giving back and helping patients in need. ❤️🩸

Nick had always grown up knowing that blood donation was important. But what really cemented his commitment was his time serving in Afghanistan, where he saw firsthand just how critical blood can be.

“Once I found out I had O negative [blood], I thought it was important. You never know who you’re helping,” he says. “And your body makes more, so don’t be stingy.”

Stories like Nick's are a powerful reminder that blood donation isn’t just a good deed, it’s a lifeline. Thank you for two decades of dedication and for inspiring others to roll up their sleeves and save lives. ❤️

As we start the new year, we’re reflecting on the lives changed because of you. 💫

Julia’s message is a powerful reminder that blood donors aren’t just filling appointments — they’re saving lives, today and all year long. Each photo you see represents someone who made time, showed compassion, and helped a patient see another tomorrow.

Kick off your new year the right way and make a donation! From now through January 2, all who come to donate can choose a beanie or socks as our thank you. To everyone who donated in 2025 — thank you for showing up again and again. You’re ending this year as heroes! 💪

This Christmas, we’re sharing a message of gratitude straight from the heart. ❤️

Vinny is here because of blood donors — people who showed up, rolled up their sleeves, and gave hope when it mattered most. As we revisit photos of donors throughout the year, we’re reminded that every donation tells a story of generosity and represents a life saved.

From Dec 20–Jan 2, every presenting donor at a drive or donor center can pick a cozy beanie or socks as a small thank you for helping save lives during the holidays, a time when donations are usually in short supply.

Thank you to every donor who gave this year — and merry Christmas! 🎄

A huge congratulations to Melissa S. on making her 100th blood donation! 🎉❤️

This milestone couldn’t come at a more important time — holiday weeks are especially tough for our blood supply, and every pint truly makes a difference for patients spending their holiday in a hospital.

Melissa’s dedication is a reminder that one person’s commitment can help save countless lives. If you’re able, please consider rolling up your sleeve this week and giving the gift that means the most.

Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. Accident victims, cancer patients, newborns, and those undergoing surgeries all rely on a steady supply of lifesaving donations. But this holiday season, that supply is critically low.

Just one donation can help save up to three lives. It takes less than an hour, but its impact can last a lifetime.

If you’ve ever thought about giving blood, now is the time! ⏱️

Our hearts are with Providence today. 💔

We are devastated by the news of the mass shooting, and our thoughts are with all those impacted — the victims, their loved ones, and the first responders.

Hospitals rely on a ready supply during emergencies, and your donation can save lives. If you are eligible, please consider donating blood to help ensure hospitals have the lifesaving supply they need.
