When we sit this is what happens
Suboccipitals: Bilaterally contracts and can cause strains on the neck which then attributes to pain and headaches.
Thoracic: Weakens due to stress from the head and neck which then attributes to spasm, leading to pain and discomfort.
Abdominals: If weak can cause strain on the back and this is one of the leading causes of lower-crossed syndrome.
Psoas: This muscle contracts most with hip flexion aka sitting position and is mostly neglected when it comes to stretching. This is one of the leading causes of hip and back pain.
Hamstrings: Shortening of this muscle can cause dysfunction which can affect gait and lead to irregularities, leading to pain and discomfort.
