I am thrilled to congratulate Nathan and Morgan, our two most recent DAISY Award winners and dedicated nurses who made such an impact on a patient who shared: “I went to the ER with a terrible headache, neck stiffness, and a fever. The ER said I more than likely had meningitis, after that I was rushed by ambulance to the CCU in Middlesex Hospital in Middletown. In a time where I was in so much pain and genuinely uncomfortable, Nathan, who works the CCU would check in on me, give me medications, and talk with me.”
The patient also shared: “When I was moved from the CCU to general admittance, my nurse Morgan made sure she was always available if I needed anything, not only did I have the call button but she provided her extension number in case I needed anything. To know I didn't have to rely on just a call button but could use the hospital phone to talk to her put me at ease and allowed me a sense of relief that I have never experienced before.” and “When I was scared but obviously not showing it, when I was sad, when I was having a rough time, at no point did they turn their backs or turn a blind eye. They were there and they made sure I had the best care any person could ask for. I can never thank Nathan and Morgan enough for everything they have done for me.”
Morgan and Nathan are just two examples of the exceptional care we provide at Middlesex Health and are a testament to the difference compassionate, patient-centered care makes in nursing. Congratulations, I am so proud of you!
