Congratulations to Garnet Health Medical Center - Catskills' November Employee of the Month Mary Kathryn “MK” Mooney, Clinical Nurse Director, CCU! 👏🐝

MK is being recognized for her dedication and willingness to support her team in any situation.

On one occasion, she noticed a patient in need of medication that had not been administered in her unit. MK collaborated with the pharmacy, Oncology, and the Emergency Department to obtain the medication. In addition, she ensured proper protocol was followed and prioritized patient safety. Because of her persistence, the patient received the medication they needed.

Garnet Health Doctors is pleased to welcome back Douglas James, MD, who has rejoined the organization as a Part-Time Trauma Surgeon.

Dr. James is board-certified in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care, bringing specialized expertise in trauma, acute care surgery, and critical care management.

He completed his General Surgery Residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, where he distinguished himself through multiple teaching and clinical excellence awards. Dr. James will provide inpatient trauma and acute care surgery coverage exclusively at Garnet Health Medical Center.
