Did you know physical therapists can treat headaches?

Many headaches are linked to the neck, posture, muscle tension, and how your body moves throughout the day — not just what’s happening in your head.

In PT, we focus on:
• reducing muscle tension
• improving neck mobility
• retraining posture and movement
• giving your body tools to maintain relief

If headaches are a regular thing for you, this might be worth exploring.

Don’t let an injury be your March upset. 🏀
Basketball demands quick cuts, explosive jumps, and constant contact — which means ankles, knees, and backs take a hit.
Before soreness turns into something that sidelines you, take a proactive approach:
✔️ Warm up with intention
✔️ Strengthen the right muscle groups
✔️ Address small issues early
Prevention is the best defense. If something doesn’t feel right, let a PT take a look before it becomes a bigger problem.

What if addressing pain early meant fewer doctor visits?
Research shows people who start with physical therapy have significantly fewer follow-up medical visits — and often avoid more invasive treatments altogether.
Dr. Devin Trachman, PT, DPT, MTC, OCS explains why early intervention matters and how PT focuses on the root cause — not just the symptoms.
If you’re dealing with pain, don’t wait for it to snowball. Get it checked out.

Pappas OPT Therapist .dpt has some tips on avoiding pain or injury this winter 🌨️

“Shoveling isn’t inherently dangerous.
It’s just the perfect storm of:
Cold tissue
Repetitive flexion extension and rotation
Fatigue
Unaccustomed load

Most pain spikes aren’t because of one bad rep.
They’re about capacity meeting demand.
Warm up. Switch sides. Take breaks.
Build the base before the storm.
Save these tips before you go out and shovel today.”

From crutches to running. 💪 After tearing his meniscus, Christian couldn’t straighten his knee — and as a firefighter, that meant life and work were suddenly on pause. Six weeks non-weight bearing. No normal routine. No doing what he loves.
But step by step (literally), he rebuilt his strength. With the right plan, hands-on support, and a team that listened, he went from non-weight bearing…to running again. Physical therapy isn’t just about recovering from surgery. It’s about getting you back to your life!

Hate running? We've got good news. 👇Try the 12-3-30 method!
12% incline. 3 mph. 30 minutes. That’s it.
This workout supports heart health while being easier on your joints — and you can scale it to your fitness level. Self-love isn’t forcing workouts you dread. It’s finding what works and doing it consistently. ❤️

Is physical therapy actually worth it? Short answer: YES. Long answer ⬇️

The start of a new year brings fresh goals…and a brand-new deductible. If you’ve been putting off aches, pain, or injuries, January is actually one of the smartest times to start physical therapy.

Here’s why 👇
• Most insurance plans reset in January, so you can use your benefits early and intentionally
• PT offers clear pricing, fewer surprises, and real conversations about your costs
• Addressing pain sooner often means fewer visits, faster progress, and avoiding bigger (and more expensive) interventions down the road
• And instead of just chasing symptoms, PT helps uncover the root cause—so issues don’t keep coming back

Waiting rarely saves money. Taking action usually does. Start your year strong. Start with PT.

Our Story

Jackie and Mike Pappas opened their first Pappas Physical and Hand Therapy practice in Johnston, RI in 2007. They focused not only on providing the highest level of clinical service in a diverse array of specialties, but on creating a unique, fun, and family-focused environment patients would love. Today, the Pappas PT network continues to grow, and while the number of therapists, staff and patients has increased, the focus on a warm and friendly environment has never changed. Pappas Physical and Hand Therapy is the best place to get better.
