Filled with gratitude 🦃
This is what we can do when our community comes together. Thank you to Hometown Foundation Inc. and Snyder Civil Engineering for selecting Gilead to be the recipient of the fixings for homemade turkey dinners! Thank you to Suburban Inc for supplying us with a truckload of help (literally), and to board members and members of Gilead's administrative leadership team for helping deliver these boxes of goodies to our programs.

Thank you for reminding us to care for one another during the holiday season.

This giving season, give a gift that transforms lives.

On Tuesday, December 2nd, Gilead will participate in a worldwide day of generosity – . This year, we hope to raise $2,000 in 24-hours to help provide housing and basic needs to the individuals we serve.

Make a gift today to support treatment and recovery services and help ensure no one “falls through the cracks.” Together, we can continue changing lives — one person, one story, one recovery at a time.

Help us kickstart this season of giving by making a donation of any amount to Gilead on Tuesday, December 2nd. Donations can be made via check mailed to PO Box 1000, Middletown, CT 06457, Venmo , or on our website.

Your donation to Gilead is an investment in the individuals we serve. We hope you can participate in this special day with us!

The season of giving is upon us! Spread some warmth and cheer this holiday season by donating an item off Gilead's wish list. These items provide warmth, comfort, and joy to the individuals we serve during the winter months and holiday season. New, unwrapped gifts and gift cards can be dropped off at Gilead's administrative office (222 Main St. Ext., Middletown) Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm until Friday, December 5th.

Thank you for your generosity!

IMPORTANT UPDATE: Compassion Counts has been postponed!

In a twist worthy of our event title, we’ve run into an unexpected source of stress & anxiety of our own—the location of tonight’s program, St. Francis parish hall, has a broken furnace. Parts have been ordered but they will not arrive in time for this evening’s event.

We all know we can’t avoid stress and anxiety entirely, but sometimes we can make decisions to prevent adding any unnecessary extra—and asking you to sit through the event in a freezing room felt like exactly that. So, we’re postponing the event to a new date (to be announced soon).

Thank you for your understanding—and for rolling with the irony right alongside us.

Celebrating 20 Years of Community and Connection 🎊

On Sunday, November 2nd, over 200 Gilead supporters gathered at Wesleyan’s Beckham Hall for Gilead’s 20th annual Quizine for a Cause fundraiser. This memorable celebration could not be possible without you – your support, your time, your passion, and your generosity. Together, we broke last year’s record and raised over $190,000. That’s something worth celebrating!

The evening was full of heartfelt memories from the last 20 years and even some laughs about the unique Quizine moments that make this event so special. We experienced impact in action as Gilead's own Ed Marchinkoski shared his story about first attending the Middletown Social Club 20 years ago and currently changing lives as a trustworthy and compassionate employee.

To finish off the evening of giving, Gilead Board Member, Russ Hassmann, shared the impact of Gilead on his family and his commitment to matching every pledged $5,000 donation. Thanks to Russ and Leslie Hassmann, this “match” generated over $70,000 for Gilead’s mission!

Gilead’s mission and its impact on individuals like Ed and Russ have inspired our community to continue giving over the last 20 years. It’s this commitment that has helped support high-quality mental health and substance use services to Middlesex County, New Britain, and beyond!

We are calling on our community in a time of need.

As you know, SNAP benefits will not continue after November 1st. Many of the individuals we serve rely on this important food assistance program for consistent meals, and without intervention about 100 clients are at risk of going hungry.

We will be collecting nonperishable food items at our Middletown Outpatient Clinic (230 Main St. Ext., Middletown) from Monday, November 3rd through Friday, November 14th. Items can be brought to the building Monday-Friday, 8am and 4pm. If you would like to donate food but are unable to drop it off during these times, please reach out to Denise Gable (dgable@gileadcs.org) to make pick-up arrangements.

Ways you can help:
Donate a nonperishable food item (pasta, peanut butter, canned soup, rice, canned beans, etc.)
Donate $10 or $25 gift cards to local supermarkets like Stop & Shop, Big Y, Price Chopper, and Aldi
Donate money to support programs' ability to purchase groceries

Donations can be made via check, cash, on our website (gileadcs.org) or Venmo (). Checks can be delivered or mailed to Gilead at 230 Main St. Ext., Middletown, CT 06457. Please indicate that your donation is for the food drive.

Thank you for responding to the needs of our community.

Another to celebrate our 20th Quizine. In 2022 we were able to host a more traditional Quizine again but not without unique obstacles. Where did we have the event back in 2022? The Wadsworth Mansion! Different compared to our home at Wesleyan. We're happy to be back home this year.

Thank you to Coughlin Services Corporation for your platinum sponsorship of this event! Quizine is possible because of the generosity of our corporate and individual sponsors.
