Ever wonder why you can hear someone talking… but still miss what they’re saying?
This graphic shows something we see all the time 👇
The left side (low frequencies) includes vowel sounds — these are louder and easier to hear. The right side (high frequencies) includes consonants like S, F, and TH — these are softer, but they carry a lot of meaning.
So when hearing starts to change, people often say:
“I can hear you… I just can’t understand you.”
That’s because those important high-pitched sounds become harder to pick up — especially in noisy places.
