James L. Maher Center Life to its fullest. That's our mission. We're about community. Finally, we are so grateful for the support of our community.

From employment support, to creative and recreational activities, to transportation and residential services, we help people with developmental disabilities enjoy life and help to build a more inclusive world. Our Maher Center team supports people with developmental disabilities in envisioning and creating full, happy lives that reflect their individual interests and aspirations. In the process, we enrich life on Aquidneck Island and throughout the East Bay by helping members of our Maher Center family work, volunteer for other nonprofits, participate in civic activities, and contribute in so many ways to the cities and towns in which they live. Your charitable giving, your volunteerism, and your faith in our mission makes it all possible. Together, we're making the world a little brighter for everyone - every day.

The transportation team will provide pick up as normal, but please bear with us as there may be some delays due to travel conditions. We hope everyone has a safe snow day and are looking forward to getting back to the routine.

Dear Friends of the James L. Maher Center,
As we reflect on 2025, we are filled with gratitude for each and every person who stood beside us this year. To our participants, families, staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners—thank you. Your belief in inclusion, dignity, and possibility is what makes our work meaningful and our community strong.
Because of your support, individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities were given opportunities to learn, grow, create, and connect. Together, we fostered independence, celebrated unique voices, and built spaces where everyone belongs. The impact of your kindness is felt every day—in moments big and small—and it continues to shape brighter futures.
You helped make 2025 a year of growth, compassion, and shared purpose. We are truly honored to have you as part of the Maher Center family, and we look forward to continuing this journey with you in the year ahead.
