Every Minute Counts: Transforming Emergency Care
Every 20 minutes someone is in need of care in the Emergency Department. That could be you, a loved one, a neighbor, or a friend.

“For many, the ED is their first experience with Garnet Health Medical Center. We want that experience to reflect all the quality work that goes on in our community hospital.” - Robin Brennan-Seibel, RN

24 hours/day, 7

days/week, 365 days/year…
No matter the time, season, or holiday, the Emergency Department at Garnet Health Medical Center is committed to providing patients with the very best in emergency medical care. Whether it be an accident, life-threatening injury, or medical emergency, our Emergency Department stands as the first line of defense for saving lives and making a difference in almost every patient that comes through Garnet Health Medical Center’s bay doors. It is vital for Garnet Health Medical Center’s Emergency Department to always be prepared to serve the needs of our community. Through our Every Minute Counts campaign, you can help Garnet Health Medical Center transform emergency care for our region’s residential and commercial population. Our hospital, and our patients, need the support of our communities to continue to bring the very best in emergency medicine to the Hudson Valley region.

“In trauma care, the first 10 minutes - the platinum 10 minutes - are often the most critical. That is why as the trauma surgeon - all of the care - has to be delivered as soon as the patient arrives in the Emergency Department.”

Mohammad Siddiqui, MD, MBA, FRCS, FACS
Attending Trauma Surgeon

It's Volunteer Week! 🙌♥

At Garnet Health, our volunteers work alongside staff to live out our TEAM motto – Together Everyone Achieves More.

We proudly recognize and celebrate our volunteers and their contributions to our healthcare system.

Volunteers provide comfort and compassion in our Emergency Departments, assist at the food pantry, support nursing units, and welcome patients and families through Guest Services. Many are also gaining experience while serving departments such as Bio-Med, Human Resources, IT, and more.

In 2025, more than 220 volunteers, including eight four-legged friends, contributed nearly 18,000 hours of service, representing an estimated $700,000 in volunteer time. They also played a pivotal role in our Food Farmacy program, supporting food-insecure patients, and helped enhance care for our geriatric population through emergency department support and Age-Friendly Initiatives that bring comfort and connection. This year also marks the return of volunteers supporting our youngest patients through the Baby Cuddlers program, which has been on hiatus since 2020.

Thank you to all our volunteers for the time and dedication you bring each day!

Garnet Health Medical Center recently hosted Senator James Skoufis and Assemblyman Jonathan Jacobson for their press conference, announcing $500,000 in funding to advance pediatric readiness across four Orange County hospitals, including Garnet Health Medical Center.

Each received $125,000 to strengthen emergency care for children and ensure high-quality care.

To be Pediatric Ready indicates participation in the National Pediatric Readiness Project, achievement on the readiness assessment, and the identification of a pediatric emergency care coordinator for the ED.

We are thankful to the Senator and Assemblyman for their support in advancing pediatric care in our community!

On March 31, 2026, David Anderson completed a 31-mile fundraising run, coordinated through the Garnet Health Foundation, to support the NICU at Garnet Health Medical Center.

The distance was deeply personal for the grateful father, he ran one mile for every week of his daughter’s gestation, as she was born at just 31 weeks. The event, titled "31 For 31," successfully raised $3k for the very unit that provided her with life-saving care.

“The fundraiser was a way of giving back to the unit which offered life-saving care to my daughter,” Anderson said following the run.

We are incredibly grateful for David’s extraordinary effort and dedication; his contribution will make a lasting impact on the families in our NICU.

Thank you, David!

Our Story

Garnet Health Medical Center is at a critical crossroad in its journey to medical excellence. Already providing a new state-of-the-art acute care facility, hospital leadership now begins its first expansion program. This initiative incorporates improvements in its outpatient services, integration of satellite oncology programs into a single location for diagnostic, treatment and support services and the expansion of sub-specialty care and academic medicine. It is during this very time that the hospital has filed with confidence for Magnet Hospital Designation and Malcolm Baldrige Quality Award. The Magnet Recognition Program® recognizes healthcare organizations for quality patient care, nursing excellence and innovations in professional nursing practice. Developed by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), Magnet is the leading source of successful nursing practices and strategies worldwide. A newly released study* comparing 34 U.S. health care organizations that received the Baldrige National Quality Award with their 153 geographically closest competitors found that the Baldrige Award recipients matched or exceeded their competitors’ measures of health care quality and outperformed them in measures of favorable patient experience.
