Port Monmouth First Aid Squad congratulates Captain Ashley Kearns on her licensure as a Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic by the State of New Jersey. This achievement represents the culmination of countless hours of dedication, study, and practice in the pursuit of knowledge that will benefit the patients she treats.

MICP Kearns first joined the Port Monmouth First Aid Squad and became an Emergency Medical Technician in 2021. MICP Kearns rose the ranks of the squad to serve as Captain for this year. She has also served as First Lieutenant and Vice President. Outside of the squad, MICP Kearns serves with Brick Township EMS/Rescue and Hackensack Meridian-JFK University Medical Center EMS, where she will now function as a Paramedic.

At Middletown Township Department of EMS, our mission goes beyond emergency response — it’s about family, compassion, and community. Today, we’re proud to launch a special breast cancer awareness fundraiser to support a family member of one of our dedicated EMS volunteers who is courageously fighting breast cancer.

Through the sale of custom-designed T-shirts, we’re coming together to help ease the burden of medical expenses and related needs. This effort is a reminder that when one of us faces a challenge, the entire EMS family — and our community — stands beside them. ❤️

By purchasing a shirt, you’re not only showing your support for breast cancer awareness, but directly helping someone who is part of our extended EMS family. It’s a small act that makes a big difference.

Look for official sources such as this page, the Township of Middletown EMS, and Middletown NJ Town Hall for news regarding EMS in Middletown and Port Monmouth.

If you see an account purporting to represent our squad, please consider reporting it to Facebook and blocking it.

At Port Monmouth First Aid, we are dedicated to providing the best prehospital care possible, at all hours of day and night, in collaboration with our wonderful hospital partners, including doctors, nurses, PCTs, administrative staff, maintenance, security, and many more. You rock!

Yesterday our squad hit the road and talked to the Bright Kidz Preschool students about EMS and how we help the community by providing emergency care. We were proud to work with the next generation!

This week, we proudly honor the dedication, compassion, and tireless efforts of our incredible members who serve the Middletown Township community day in and day out. Your commitment to saving lives and caring for others, often in the most challenging circumstances, is what makes our squad truly exceptional.

We also extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to our fellow emergency services agencies across Middletown — your partnership and teamwork make a real difference, every single day. And a special shoutout to the outstanding paramedics from Hackensack Meridian Health EMS and Robert Wood Johnson EMS — your support in the field is second to none, and we are proud to work alongside you.

🎓 This EMS Week is made even more special as we celebrate two of our own — Captain Ashley Kearns and Ex-Chief Brian McKittrick— who have both graduated from paramedic school at Union County College, earning their Associate’s of Science in Paramedicine. Next they will complete their National Registry exams to officially become licensed Mobile Intensive Care Paramedics in the State of New Jersey. We’re incredibly proud of your achievements and can’t wait to see you take the next step in your EMS journey!
