We’ve heard from our families that the transition to adulthood for their loved ones with Down syndrome can be a challenging time as they navigate resources and options. So, we attended recent Transition Fairs across the state to share what we can do to help. These fairs are for students with disabilities to connect with organizations like us. Thank you to DSADE staff Jess and Nancy, as well as self-advocate Lauren, for representing the DSADE at these events and sharing information about our social programs, classes, and outreach resources. Are you looking for information about the transition to adulthood? Please reach out to info@dsadelaware.org so we can support you!

It’s not a DSADE event without a little dancing too 🕺 Thank you to everyone who joined us for a very special year of Run for the Buds 5K—our first year celebrating at The Starboard Restaurant with a great turnout of over 200 runners and walkers! 👏

A special shoutout to Quade Cummings of Milford, Delaware—our overall male winner at just 16 years old. And congratulations to Melissa Wiley of Ocean City, Maryland, our overall female winner 👏 Additionally, we couldn’t raise awareness and support our mission through this race without the help of our sponsors:

🏃🏻‍♀️Water Doctors
🏃🏻‍♀️The Starboard Restaurant
🏃🏻‍♀️Fusion Racing
🏃🏻‍♀️Budweiser & NKS Distributing
🏃🏻‍♀️Matt Basile - State Farm Insurance Agent
🏃🏻‍♀️WSFS Bank
🏃🏻‍♀️Chesapeake Utilities
🏃🏻‍♀️Integrity Nursing
🏃🏻‍♀️Belfint, Lyons & Shuman, CPAs
🏃🏻‍♀️Beebe Healthcare
🏃🏻‍♀️Wawa

We’re so grateful to carry on the Run for the Buds tradition of the Gilligan family, who we were lucky to spend the day with. We can’t wait to see you all next year at Run for the Buds 👀!
