Over 14 years ago, I made the decision to purchase my Pure Romance business. At the time, I had no idea what to expect. I didn't have a local mentor to show me the ropes and I'd never even been to a party!😬 I knew nothing of sales, marketing or presenting products to groups of people! 😳 Heck, I had never even USED the products myself before jumping into the role of consultant! I didn't know if I could book parties. I didn't know if I could sell. I didn't know if anyone would be interested in what I had to say or to offer. I didn't know if I would be successful.
Here's what I DID know:
I was a broke single mom working 12 hour night shifts at a job I hated. I was living paycheck to paycheck, always behind and couldn't see a light at the end of that dark tunnel. My kids were growing fast and I was missing a lot. I was tired and lacked fun, excitement and connections in my life. I knew I was willing to put in the effort to learn something new. I knew with three kids relying on me, failure wasn't an option! I knew in order for things to change, THINGS NEEDED TO CHANGE. So I swallowed my fear, squashed my doubts and took that leap of faith...
I had no idea the fun I was going to have or the friendships I would make. I didn't realize how much I would love the products or how passionate I would become about our company's mission to educate, empower and entertain women. I couldn't have imagined rising to the top 2% of the company and serving several terms on our Boards, giving me a voice within the company, and in doing so, also giving my clients a voice.
Sometimes we don't know what we don't know. We cannot predict the way in which our decisions today will impact our tomorrows. But we CAN take chances. We CAN believe in ourselves and our potential for growth and success. We CAN set aside fear and doubt to move forward. We CAN do anything we set our minds to. We CAN.
