I will be out of town April 1st-9th for spring break!
I hope everyone has a Safe and Healthy Spring Break!

Hey everyone,
I’ve had some questions regarding my plans for maternity leave and I thought I’d share what I’m thinking as of now. (Knowing things could change if my pregnancy does)

I am due June 2nd
I plan to take maternity leave/a break for June and July. (Not saying I won’t do farm calls in July but just don’t plan on it)

Fair/4H season will look different for me this year: I will not be carrying the Barry Co. Swine Flu vaccines.

***If you are getting pigs this spring please do a couple things
1. Ask the breeder if they are getting a broad spectrum antibiotic and write down what it is
2. Ensure the pigs will not be chilled by the awful spring wind (boards at pig level- good airflow above pigs)
3. Call at first sign of being off

The answer depends. Breeding ewe lambs/doelings provides an economic advantage, but only if they are properly fed and managed.

Last night did not go as planned!!

Yesterday I received my new shampoo and conditioner from the Peter Lamas all natural collection!

I’ve had so many friends Rave about how clean and effective the line is!

And a friend was having him go LIVE on FB last night .... and I was excited to hear all about the collection....but as life would have it, I got a call to check a cow that had been “trying to calve all day”

The cow had separated herself, had tons of slime, seemed restless (up and down), and had her tail raised.

So I went out and checked her.
She was definitely in labor, just not fully dilated, but normal presentation of calf.
So I got to help deliver twin heifers.

And I was able to watch the Live on record after it all!

It did not turn out how I planned but it turned out amazing!!
And I got to come home and use my new shampoo/conditioner and I love it!!
