Baby 500! What a week we’ve had!

Momma Ivie jumped the line, or maybe we should say it was Baby Daphne who was ready 😂 She had our last due date in February and decide to surprise us all with an early arrival to become the 500th birth center baby!

Ivie did so well! Strong and in control, she had an amazing birth.
Congrats, Ivie and welcome the world, Daphne!

Dr. McKenzie Craig delivered baby Ellie here this week. She was so calm and composed throughout labor that our team could hardly believe she was in active labor. As she began pushing, she showed just a hint of discomfort—but it was a quick pushing stage, and soon baby Ellie was in her arms.

Beautiful mama Caroline delivered earlier this month. ❤️ Below is a reflection from Courtney, the midwife:

Earlier this month, I had a truly joyful weekend on call at the Birth Center. Three women gave birth—each carrying the weight of past birth trauma. Two women planning a VBAC (after having successful VBACs with us in the past!) and one who had experienced a traumatic home birth. All three entered labor holding those previous experiences with them. But they were also prepared for their births— mentally and physically strong!

All three women had powerful, positive births! Afterward, they shared how different this experience felt from their first births— using words like “joyous” and “redemptive.” Hearing that was incredibly moving. It made me deeply grateful that our birth center could be a common thread in their stories.

I can’t fully express how much I love supporting women through the empowering births they deserve, or how thankful I am that our birth center exists— a tiny gem in the Midland community! ❤️

New Class! And there are a few spots left for Tuesday night.

Instructor Kristin Meaux is a personal trainer who specializes in prenatal fitness and a is a birth center momma herself! She’ll cover best practices for working out while pregnant.

Working out in pregnancy is so important for you and baby. It builds stamina and strength for you in birth. It can help keep common pregnancy ailments at bay and it can build a strong heart in baby! Come get motivated!
