Mission Center Adult Day Service

Non-profit Adult Day Care. For individuals that are elderly, have a disability and want to remain in We are the only program of this type in the Permian Basin.

The entire purpose of Mission Center is to support clients and caregivers in their decision to age-in-place by remaining in their homes and receiving the care they need from outside resources. Mission provides preventative care by treating the whole person. Clients receive medical care, nutritional stability, education about disease management. They have a secure setting where they can form relationships with other individuals who have like disorders. They are provided with the opportunity to thrive no matter their capacity or capabilities. The program is also for those caregivers who need respite from the endless care required to meet the needs of their loved ones. Research shows that out of caregivers who do not utilize outside assistance 50% will have a decline in health rendering them unable to take care of themselves of their loved ones. Our program serves a dual purpose, to serve not only the clients but their caregivers, too. In 1986, Pal Adult Day Care was established on Powell Street in Midland, TX. John and Freddie Utsman soon assumed leadership of the program and subsequently changed the name to Mission Adult Day Care. In 1990, the organization became incorporated and acquired state licensure and Medicaid approval under the name of Mission Health Care, Inc. In 2011, Mission Center signed a provider agreement with the Veteran's Administration to provide services to local veterans. In September 2014, Mission Center relocated to the new Midland Shared Spaces building.

My Dear Friends,

Let me begin by saying “Thank You” for all the support you’ve unselfishly given to Mission Center Adult Day Services throughout the years. We are truly grateful. With your love and support, we have provided exceptional, professional services to disabled adults and elderly individuals for over 36 years!

I am writing this letter to personally invite you to participate in this year’s Permian Basin Gives event. Permian Basin Gives is a day of giving and unity that will take place on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, throughout the Permian Basin.

This annual event showcases the generosity and caring spirit of West Texans. It is an opportunity for people to stand together in unity – to use their individual power of generosity to remain connected and heal from the many issues we’ve faced. While we gradually adopt to life’s new normal, it is so comforting to know that our neighbors are here with a friendly smile, encouraging words, and a kind “hand-up” in times of need.

We hope you’ll join us on May 17th, as we celebrate all the wonderful agencies who are participating in this year’s event.
