Midland Children's Rehabilitation Center

Midland Children's Rehabilitation Center Midland Children's Rehabilitation Center (MCRC) has been providing pediatric occupational, physical and speech therapy since 1956.

Founded in 1956 by the Children's Service League, MCRC is changing the lives of children by providing neurological, orthopedic, and developmental therapy, in a compassionate environment, regardless of a family's ability to pay. We treat children from infant to age 22 with developmental, orthopedic and neurologic limitations. Our vision is to provide these services at little or no cost to the families. To date, the center has never charged for services and relies on the generosity of the community to be able to do so. Services currently offered:

Hippotherapy
West Texas Dyslexia Center

We also offer several enrichment programs:

As we near the end of March, National Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month, we want to take a moment to recognize the history and continued dedication of Midland Children’s Rehabilitation Center in caring for children affected by this neurological condition. 💙💚

Originally founded in 1956 as the Cerebral Palsy Center, the organization began as a small clinic dedicated to serving children with cerebral palsy. It was established by the Children’s Service League (CSL) and initially served about 25 children, supported by a physical therapist and a part-time speech therapist. At that time, the center typically worked with around 25 children each year.

In 2001, leadership of the center transitioned to a Board of Directors, and the organization was renamed Midland Children’s Rehabilitation Center (MCRC). While CSL became a separate nonprofit, it has continued its mission of supporting the children served at MCRC.

Over the years, MCRC has grown significantly. Today, the center provides services to approximately 500 children annually through therapy programs, bracing clinics, and medical clinics. In fact, MCRC has never charged clients for its services, making it the only pediatric therapy center in Texas to operate without fees.

These services are made possible through the generous support of fundraising events, foundations, corporations, businesses, and individual donors. To learn more about supporting MCRC’s mission, visit midlandchildrens.org.
