🦷 What’s the difference between 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗜 and 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗜𝗜 treatment? ⤵️

✨ 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗜 - 𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗛𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗗𝗜𝗖 (𝘀𝗸𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗹) 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
This phase focuses on 𝘢𝘪𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘥𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘫𝘢𝘸 𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘸𝘵𝘩. We address things like:
➡️ Crossbites, underbites, and narrow jaws. The goal is to set a strong 𝘀𝗸𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 allowing teeth to erupt normally, improving oral function, and supporting healthy airway development and facial growth. During this phase, we often collaborate with other healthcare providers such as PCPs, ENTs, allergists, and myofunctional therapists to support overall health.

😁 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗜𝗜 - 𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗛𝗢𝗗𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗜𝗖 (𝘁𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗵) 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
Once the skeletal base is set, we move on to aligning the 𝘁𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗵, correcting crowding, deep bites, rotations, and malocclusion using braces or aligners. This is the traditional orthodontic phase most people recognize and it’s 𝘮𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘴𝘮𝘰𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘧𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳 when the jaw foundation is already in balance!

🚨 Not every patient needs both phases, but for growing children with skeletal discrepancies, early intervention can make all the difference. That’s why a thorough physical exam and early evaluation 𝘣𝘺 𝘢𝘨𝘦 7 are so important! 💚
