May 9th is National Fentanyl Awareness Day, and we wanted to share some facts about Fentanyl. Fentanyl has been taking over the airwaves and news stories. It is widely becoming a problem in not just cities but rural areas as well. According to the CDC, 107,375 people in the United States died of drug overdoses and poisonings in the 12-month period ending in January 2022. A staggering 67 percent of those deaths involved synthetic opioids like fentanyl.

If you see something, say something, don't let this happen to your loved ones. It takes a community to spread awareness and stop this problem.

Su***de is a leading cause of death in the United States, and it has affected about 54% of Americans in some way.

However, there is hope! More investment in prevention, education, and research will help lower su***de rates.

90% of those who died by su***de had a treatable mental illness.

That is why we invite you to join the Midland ISD and Midland College Out of the Darkness Walk on Saturday, May 6th.

Let's come together to show support for those who have been impacted by su***de and to promote mental health and wellness in our community.

Hope Walks Here! You are not alone!
