April is Autism Awareness Month! 💙

One of our talented individuals in the Kaleidoscope Creative Arts Program, created this beautiful piece in wood burning class. The puzzle ribbon is a symbol often used to represent autism awareness, and we love seeing creativity used to share an important message.
Amazing work and a wonderful reminder that art is a powerful way to express support, inclusion, and individuality.

🎉 Big Congratulations to JD! 🎉
We are proud to celebrate JD and his incredible journey toward meaningful employment! Through his time with the Arnold Center, JD has developed strong job readiness skills and discovered a true passion for helping others.
Today, JD is thriving in his role at Best Western in Clare, where he works at the front desk providing excellent customer service. He enjoys connecting with guests and making sure everyone feels welcomed and valued. In addition to his front desk responsibilities, JD also lends a hand with janitorial tasks, showing his dedication, teamwork, and willingness to support wherever needed.
JD’s positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to service make him an outstanding addition to the team. We are so excited to see all that he will continue to accomplish!

We had the pleasure of spending the afternoon with the Midland County Youth Leadership participants. These aspiring leaders demonstrated exceptional potential and we are assured they will bring about meaningful change in the world. Our Clinical Director, Melissa Poff, shared her family's experience with Autism and facilitated a discussion with the young leaders on supporting students with disabilities. Senior Laney Harding shared her personal journey of growing up with a sibling with a disability and examined the impact of social media on individuals with disabilities and their families. The afternoon was profoundly impactful.

The Gladwin County Chamber of Commerce hosted a legislative update meeting this morning, at which Senator Roger Hauck and Representative Mike Hoadley engaged with community members and established individual connections. Appreciation is extended to Carrie Will, Executive Director of the Chamber, for organizing this event.

🌟Community Inclusion in Action🌟
Arnold Center’s Life Map CLS group recently visited the Midland Fire Department for an educational and engaging tour. Participants learned about fire prevention&safety, explored the fire trucks, and asked thoughtful questions about emergency response services. We extend our sincere thanks to Battalion Chief Mark Laux for welcoming our group and providing such a valuable experience.
At Life Map, we believe community inclusion creates stronger connections and meaningful learning opportunities for everyone involved.

🎉 Congratulations, Jerime! 🎉

After working hard and staying committed to his goal of community employment, Jerime has found exactly what he was looking for! We are excited to share that Jerime has been hired as a Receiving Clerk at Lowes! 👏

Jerime is looking forward to this new opportunity and all that comes with it. When asked what he’s most excited about, Jerime shared that he’s happy to be making some extra income so he can take his girlfriend out to dinner and get pet insurance for his cat 🐱❤️
