For recovering people-pleasers, 1:1 therapy is a safe harbor. But the group is the open sea where you actually get to practice the skills. In Connected Within™, we create a contained, predictable environment where you can practice staying connected to yourself while relating to others.
In the sanctuary of individual therapy, it is easy to talk about boundaries. It is safe to analyze why we over-function and easy to promise ourselves that “next time” we will speak our truth. But the gap between knowing what to do and doing it in the presence of others can feel like a vast, intimidating ocean.
This is why group psychotherapy is the primary modality for the Sage Integration Method™.
The group acts as a “therapeutic social microcosm.” It is a living laboratory where your real-world patterns—the urge to rescue, the fear of taking up space, the instinct to “fawn” to keep the peace—will naturally surface. But unlike the outside world, this space is contained and clinical. When those patterns show up, we don’t push past them. We pause.
In Connected Within™, you get to practice:
Early Boundary Recognition: Noticing the internal “glitch” before you say yes.
Holding Your Limit: Stating your needs without the immediate urge to over-explain or apologize.
Relational Presence: Learning how to feel the “energy” of the room without letting it dictate your internal state.
We move away from the intensity of trauma-heavy processing and toward the steady work of relational integration. You don’t have to navigate the open sea alone. We are here to practice the “muscle memory” of self-trust together, so that when you leave the session, you are no longer just thinking about change—you are embodying it.
Connected Within™ is currently accepting new members. If you are a Virginia resident ready to move from the harbor to the open sea with a guided, steady hand, I invite you to join us.
