What Is Shamanic Healing?

Shamanic healing is one of the oldest healing traditions in the world, found in cultures across every continent. At its core, it’s a spiritual and energetic practice that helps restore balance within a person—emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually. Shamans work by connecting with the unseen world: the subconscious, the soul, and the natural energetic field surrounding all living things.



How Shamanic Healing Works

A shamanic practitioner enters a lightly altered state of consciousness—often through drumming, rattling, rhythmic breathing, or guided journeying. In this state, the practitioner is able to access deeper layers of awareness to:

• Receive insight about the root cause of an issue

This could be emotional wounds, energetic stagnation, trauma, patterns, or old beliefs.

• Clear or shift blocked energy

Heavy, stuck, or fragmented energy can be released or transformed.

• Retrieve lost or disconnected parts of the self

Often called “soul retrieval,” this helps people feel more whole, present, and empowered.

• Restore harmony in the energy field

This may involve bringing in supportive energies, protection, grounding, or clarity.



What a Session Feels Like

Clients often describe shamanic work as deeply calming, grounding, and insightful. During a session, they may experience:
• Sensations of warmth or lightness
• Emotional release
• Visions, images, or memories
• A quiet mind
• A sense of reconnection with themselves or their purpose

They don’t need any special abilities—just openness to the process.



What Shamanic Healing Can Support

Shamanic work is not a replacement for medical or psychological treatment, but it can complement other healing approaches and support:

WHEN PARENTS GOSSIP ABOUT ONE CHILD TO ANOTHER CHILD, THEY ARE TRIANGULATING THE FAMILY. THIS IS A FORM OF EMOTIONAL ABUSE.

This behavior may seem harmless, but it's a toxic tactic that can have long-lasting effects on your children's emotional well-being and your family dynamics. By sharing confidential information or speaking negatively about one child to another, you're creating a sense of unease, guilt, and anxiety.

You're forcing your children to take sides, to carry burdens they're not meant to carry, and to question their relationships with each other and with you. This can lead to sibling rivalry, low self-esteem, and difficulties with trust and intimacy in the future.

As a parent, your role is to nurture, protect, and support your children, not to use them as emotional messengers or confidants. Break the cycle of emotional abuse by being mindful of your words and actions. Foster a safe, loving, and respectful environment where your children can thrive.

What was required for you to arrive at this point? What affirmations did you repeat to yourself during your formative years? Change and growth can be challenging, often involving the loss of friendships, familial relationships, and even one's sense of self in order to cultivate the person one was meant to be. This process entails releasing aspects that no longer serve you, while integrating elements that are meant to be part of your life. Illumination, soul retrieval, and shadow work are all valuable practices. We can navigate this journey together, as it is a truly transformative experience. However, it is essential to be prepared to release attachment and trust the process.
