Naturally, I have mixed emotions.
I truly loved my career as a Foot & Ankle Specialist. (And no, it was nothing like the Circus Act on the program βMy Feet Are Killing Meβ, lol).
However, with the progressive changes in healthcare, advancing year over year, since the introduction of the Affordable Care Act, it has become infeasible to continue on with the way I like to work, as a solo practitioner.
Very fortunately for me, I have the opportunity to pursue a second career.
That opportunity would not be possible without the purchaser of my practice, Dr. James Baldwin. His vision and leadership have created a better way for a group practice to leverage their collective resources and talent while still providing high quality podiatric care.
The group that acquired my practice, Achilles Foot & Ankle, has eighteen dedicated providers, with multiple office locations all in RVA, again, led by Dr. James Baldwin, whom I will always be grateful for. This practice has the capacity of handling the full range of podiatric pathology as well as always having same day appointments available.
As for my second career:
Iβm so excited and blessed to have the ability to further develop and share my passion for the sport of lacrosse with advanced skills, mindset, and lacrosse I.Q. training for boys and girls starting at age twelve.
There are many exciting things on the horizon for me, including a lacrosse podcast with fellow Brown Lacrosse Alums, working with the players in my local (RVA) area, as well as traveling to my former home, on Long Island, for summer clinics and camps, and for the first time, working with the UVA menβs lacrosse team, starting very soon/this season!
