The Ohio Occupational Therapy Association is a voluntary professional organization of occupational therapy practitioners who are dedicated to supporting the profession through advocacy and communication. The Board of Trustees meets multiple times per year and welcomes input from its members. Membership services are of primary importance to the Ohio Occupational Therapy Association. In addition to the informational, support and networking opportunities, the continuing education of members is necessary to maintain standards in quality of service delivery. Membership recruitment, development and retention are essential to meet Ohio’s present and future needs for Occupational Therapy.

Introducing OOTA Central District Chair, Bailey Peters, OTD, OTR/L (she/her)

Bailey is an assistant professor of practice & Doctoral Capstone Coordinator at The Ohio State University.

With six years of clinical experience at Nationwide Children’s Hospital — including five years in acute care and one year in the Comprehensive Pediatric Feeding & Swallowing Program — Bailey brings a wealth of pediatric expertise and a passion for elevating our profession.

Bailey shares that she is “looking forward to continuing to advocate for occupational therapy on a state level and help encourage practitioners specifically in Central Ohio to get involved."

🌟 Congratulations to Cheryl Boop, MS, OTR/L, BCP! 🌟

We’re thrilled to celebrate Cheryl’s appointment to the Ohio OTPTAT Board, with her term running from October 31, 2025, through August 27, 2028!

Cheryl currently serves as a Clinical Therapies Homecare Educator and Homecare OT at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, and for the past two years, she has been an invaluable OOTA liaison to the OTPTAT Board. Her dedication and deep understanding of the board’s impact make this appointment especially meaningful.

“I am very excited about my role as OT Section Member for the OTPTAT Board. I have seen firsthand the important work the OT Section members do for our profession and the people we serve. I look forward to educating the public about the roles and responsibilities of OTPs—and helping OTPs better understand the OTPTAT Board and get their questions answered."
