Last week we celebrated in a COLORFUL way in anticipation of the upcoming spring season! 🌺

Holi is the traditional Hindu Festival of Colors that marks the arrival of spring, the end of winter, and the blossoming of love and community spirit 🌟Often celebrated with bright, vibrant colors, it represents the triumph of good over evil, giving us a feeling of renewal that comes along with the warmer weather of spring 🌈☀️

Life is in full BLOOM here at Spring Arbor! 🌷🌷

Our residents have been enjoying the beautiful trees outside as they start to blossom, a sure sign that warmer days are on the way. The beautiful colors bring brightness to our community and smiles to our faces. The warm sunshine sure doesn't hurt either! ☀️

It was GAME ON at our bean bag toss activity!

We all had a great time practicing the perfect shot during some competitive bean bag toss games. Although we had several professionals on our hands, we also welcomed those who would rather sit and cheer on their friends from the sidelines.

No matter your preference, it's all about having FUN!

Music is one of our favorite things to enjoy at Spring Arbor!

Guitars, pianists, vocalists - we have them all. Everyone loves gathering around and singing along to their favorite tunes! The performers are often interactive, making our residents smile and laugh throughout the performance 🎶🎵

We are always working on new and creative ways to keep our residents active and engaged in our memory care neighborhood 💪

This week we played air hockey! This isn't necessarily a game that our residents would be familiar with, but boy did they enjoy it! A little bit of friendly competition and cheering from their friends certainly didn't hurt. And we got some exercise along the way!

Sometimes the best moments are UNSCHEDULED fun!

Although we use our activities calendar as a guide for our day, the best moments are often moments of fun, laughter, and joy that aren't on the calendar. We captured a sweet moment between a team member and a resident who were simply sitting and chatting after lunch - and having the BEST time.

We don't just take care of our residents, we live alongside them in the moment, creating wonderful friendships 💜💜💜

On Tuesdays we drink COFFEE!

One of our favorite morning traditions is "coffee cart Tuesdays" led by our activities team. Our coffee cart is stocked with iced and hot options, flavored creamers, syrups, and more! The best part is the music they bring around with them. It's a great way to wake up and greet the day!

Cherita, our Activities Assistant, went above and beyond to make sure the decor, food, and ambience were PERFECT to celebrate friendship and togetherness ❤️

This Valentine's Day, "service" took on a special meaning when we proudly hosted volunteers from Fort Lee in our community. They spent time with our memory care residents making Valentine's Day cards, sharing stories, and taking in the wisdom of our Veterans. This small gesture warmed our hearts and put smiles on everyone's faces.

We thank you for your service, not only to our country, but to our residents 💜

Last week we celebrated Valentine's Day during our "Sweetheart Social." Residents, family members, and team members all joined in the fun and enjoyed live music and delicious treats!

Each of our residents also received a personalized Valentine's Day card from a secret admirer 👀 (spoiler alert, it was us)
