Today feels so heavy. It feels exceptionally heavy as an empath. My heart is breaking for these families. The government requires children to be legally enrolled in school; yet they don't require them to remain safe while there. This logic seems so incredibly defective. This is no longer one tragic event; this is becoming normalized behavior that continues to be allowed year after year. The trauma and anxiety inflicted on families, the lack of mental health professionals trained to handle the influx in trauma seems disheartening. I do believe there are solutions. I do not have the authority to make the changes needed; I do have suggestions where we can start to make changes for our society as a whole. The energy we put out into the world (low or high) has the ability to shift that of others. Be a voice, not an echo. Be the positive change you wish to offer the world!

1. Treat people with kindness. Kindness, as well as cruelty can spread like fire. One act of kindness or one act of being mean to a person can trickle outward from that person to so many people in a single day.

2. Honor others' opinions. Don't argue, talk down to or degrade others for having a differing opinion than you. Accept we are all human and opinions are individual. One is not above or better than another. If you think arguing your opinion to be the right one over being kind, it's wise to look within to see how you can do better.

3. At the end of the day nothing matters more than love. Our kid's getting to bed on time, the dishes, a disagreement with someone; none of that small stuff matters. We keep losing sight of that in our rush to the next thing. Deeply loving those souls in our life is all that matters. This doesn't mean excusing boundaries and allowing people to treat your badly, it means you get to choose what emits from your heart. Let that be silence instead of reacting. Peace instead of getting dragged into chaos. You know you best!

Me: Hello God.
God: Hello...
Me: I’m falling apart. Can you put me back together?
God: I'd rather not.
Me: Why?
God: Because you're not a puzzle.
Me: What about all the pieces of my life that fall to the ground?
God: Leave them there for a while. They fell for a reason. Let them be there for a while and then decide if you need to take any of those pieces back.
Me: You don't understand! I'm breaking!
God: No, you don't understand. You're transcending, evolving.
What you feel are growing pains. You're getting rid of the things and people in your life that are holding you back. The pieces are not falling down. The pieces are being put in place. Relax. Take a deep breath and let those things you no longer need fall down. Stop clinging to pieces that are no longer for you. Let them fall. Let them go.
Me: Once I start doing that, what will I have left?
God: Only the best pieces of yourself.
Me: I'm afraid to change.
God: I keep telling you: YOU'RE NOT CHANGING! YOU'RE BECOMING!
Me: Becoming, Who?
God: Becoming who I created you to be! A person of light, love, charity, hope, courage, joy, mercy, grace and compassion. I made you for so much more than those shallow pieces you decided to adorn yourself with and that you cling to with so much greed and fear. Let those things fall off you. I love you! Don't change! Become! Don't change! Become! Become who I want you to be, who I created. I'm gonna keep telling you this until you remember.
Me: There goes another piece.
God: Yes. Let it be like this.
Me: So... I'm not broken?
God: No, but you're breaking the darkness, like dawn. It's a new day. Become!! Become who you really are!!"
