Teammate Tuesday ✨

We're so excited to introduce you to Miss Chloe, an incredible CF-SLP at our OKC location. Miss Chloe is kind, thoughtful, and loves helping her kiddos with their speech and feeding goals!

Miss Chloe said, "Hi, I'm Chloe! I got my degree in Communication Sciences at Oklahoma State University and my masters in Speech Pathology at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences.
I chose to pursue speech pathology after my grandpa was diagnosed with ALS while I was in college. That experience sparked a deep passion in me to help people find and use their voices.
Through my work in a hospital with adults, in schools, and in private clinics, I discovered that working with children is where my heart truly feels at home. I love bringing joy to them, making communication and feeding fun, and helping them reach their full potential. One of my favorite things about OKC Speech is the flexibility to see clients in the clinic, at their daycare, or in their home. I also truly love the welcoming and fun environment we create here. I believe it makes learning feel natural and exciting for every child. My favorite games/materials I like to use in therapy are pop the pig, barns with animal finger puppets, and bubbles!" 🫧

❄️ Each day is an opportunity to learn and grow!

Here’s a few fun ways to carry over skills your child is learning at therapy at home and make memories during these winter weather days!

☃️ Indoor Obstacle Courses target all sorts of communication and gross motor skills like coordination, body and spacial awareness, balance, and following directions!

☃️ Food coloring in spray bottles is a great way for outdoor play and also promotes fine motor skills by strengthening fingers and grip!

☃️ Create “snowflakes” inside with Marshmallows and Toothpicks! This is a fun way to practice following instructions and fine motor skills as well!

☃️ Baking is another one of our favorite activities to do that support occupational therapy, feeding therapy, and speech therapy goals! What is your favorite treat to bake on a snowy day?

Perfect Attendance! 🎉

Attending each and every scheduled therapy session is vital to your child’s growth and development. With consistent attendance, your child and his or her therapist follow your child’s care plan as recommended, which leads to BIG growth!

Right before the holidays, we had a fun “‘Tis the Season for Perfect Attendance” competition, and Eben was the winner! 🥇

We are so thankful for Eben’s entire family and their commitment to ensuring that Eben attends all speech, occupational, and physical therapy sessions!

Team Member Spotlight ✨

Meet Miss Megan, an incredible CCC-SLP on our team at the Midwest City clinic. Miss Megan not only helps children with their speech and language goals, but she also helps children with feeding therapy as well and makes such a difference in the lives of each and every child she works with!

Miss Megan attended OSU for her undergraduate degree and UTD for her master’s degree. She chose the field of speech therapy because she loves working with kids and helping them reach their communication goals.

Miss Megan said, “My younger sister had a speech delay when we were kids, so I got started at a young age as her older sister who made her practice her sounds.”

Miss Megan loves to bake, do yoga, read, and spend time with her friends and family. 📖

When asked what she loves the most about OKC Speech, Miss Megan said, “My favorite thing about OKC Speech is the people I get to work with. We have the best admin team and therapists. Everyone is so supportive. I also love getting to work with all of my sweet kids and their amazing parents!”

Her favorite therapy materials are books, bubbles, and her ball popper toy! 📚 🫧

🍎 Thank you, Miss Hamna!

Hamna just finished her clinical externship with us as a Graduate Clinician from the University of Oklahoma - Health Science Center.

It is a blessing to have multiple requests every season from students, colleges, universities, and graduate programs for shadowing, rotations, and clinical externships. Our team is always eager to pour into rising therapists and therapy assistants.

We absolutely loved having you with our OKC team, Hamna! You are going to be an incredible SLP, and we hope to see you soon! 😉

It’s time to celebrate! 🎉

Congratulations to one of our newest graduates, Makenzie, on her graduation from occupational therapy!

Miss Becca shared, “Makenzie made a lot of progress with her attention to task and impulse control during therapy. Her mom reported that she has been getting great reports from her teachers at school, and she’s even in the gifted and talented program now! Makenzie also loved crafts and playing games with others.
Makenzie’s progress is a testament to her dedication, including great attendance for both OT and speech therapy!”
