started our journey in 1985 with purchase of the Strunk Funeral Home, at 347 Chestnut St. We relocated the business to the present facility in 1992, at the east end of Mifflinburg, 8594 Old Turnpike Rd., and have since grown to be Union County's most valued funeral home. Roupp, Funeral Director and Supervisor since 1999, grew up in a funeral home, and moved to Mifflinburg in 1985, when he was in 4

th grade. After graduating from Mifflinburg Area High School in 1994, Andre’ attended Washington & Jefferson College, Washington, PA. Inspired by his grandfather, C. Brainard Kuhl (1913-2002) a licensed funeral director for 66 years in Tioga County, Andre pursued his degree in Mortuary Science at Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science, graduating in 1997. He completed his apprenticeship at Bogan Funeral Homes in Canonsburg, Washington County, and Bridgeville, Allegheny County. Andre’ could have stayed in Pittsburgh to pursue his career, but wanted to serve the community where he grew up. Backed by two decades of local service, our funeral directors offer honesty, integrity and personal attention to the families we serve. We are here to assist families of every faith, ethnicity, and culture to arrange a dignified service for your loved one. When it come to end-of-life practices, one of the biggest decisions you'll make is choosing between burial or cremation.

So, how do you decide if cremation is the right choice for you?

Cremation costs less. No need for a casket or full funeral home services.

No need for a full burial.

It also offers more flexibility in terms of memorialization.

The remains can be in an urn or placed in keepsakes that family members can hold on to.

They can also be scattered to a place of yours or your family's choosing or kept in a family crypt.

Remember this is a personal decision, but remember to take your loved ones wishes, feelings, and beliefs into consideration.

We were privileged to recently assist a family with a graveside service that included Military Honors, provided by dedicated veterans from the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars here in Mifflinburg. The flag folding, gun salute, and the playing of Taps served as a powerful reminder of the gratitude we owe to those who have served our country.

At Roupp Funeral Home, it is our honor to help families navigate the benefits available to honorably discharged veterans and their spouses.

Union County Benefits may include:

-$100 Burial Benefit to assist with funeral or cremation costs

-$100 Headstone Benefit for engraving or purchase

-Bronze Veteran Flag Holder and gravesite flag (replaced annually for Memorial Day)

-Military Honors (available at graveside, funeral home, or church)

Federal Benefits may include:

-Burial flag for casket or urn

-Burial in a national cemetery (including plot, opening/closing, headstone, and perpetual care)

-10 certified copies of the death certificate for the veteran and spouse

Additional benefits may be available depending on service history. We encourage families to connect with the Union County Veterans Affairs Office for more information.

We had such a fun time attending this weekend's Camp Koala Gala, supporting this wonderful organization that provides a safe, caring space for kids who are navigating the loss of a loved one. Seeing so many people come together to raise awareness and support this important mission was truly inspiring.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the evening such a meaningful success from the organizers and volunteers to the generous supporters who showed up for these children in such a powerful way.

We are grateful to stand alongside organizations like Camp Koala that remind families they are never alone on their grief journey.
