đż Understanding Your Grief Journey đż
Grief changes our lives in deep and lasting ways, and healing doesnât come by wishing the hurt away. Overcoming the brokenness and emptiness means confronting the emotions we're afraid of; it comes from actively mourning the loss youâve experienced.
A thoughtful article from the Center for Loss & Life Transition highlights the Six Needs of Mourning, which can guide you as you walk the path of grief:
⨠Six Needs of Mourning
1ď¸âŁ Acknowledge the reality of the death
2ď¸âŁ Embrace the pain of the loss
3ď¸âŁ Remember the person who died
4ď¸âŁ Develop a new self-identity
5ď¸âŁ Search for meaning
6ď¸âŁ Receive ongoing support from others
Grief isnât something to rush or suppress â itâs something to move through. Each of these needs softly allows you to face your loss, allow your heart to feel, and find a way forward that honors both your grief and your loved one.
đŹ You donât have to walk this journey alone. Whether itâs through support, counseling, or compassionate community, there is hope and healing ahead.
