🌎💉 Today is World Polio Day! 💉🌎

Rotary has been leading the fight to end polio worldwide for more than 35 years — and we’re this close to making history.

Thanks to the efforts of Rotary International, our partners, and countless volunteers, polio cases have been reduced by over 99.9% globally. Only a few areas remain where the virus still exists, but together, we can finish the job.

Join the Milan Rotary Club and Rotarians around the world as we continue the mission to make sure no child ever suffers from polio again.

The Milan Rotary Club is proud to support our local schools! 🎓💙

Today, we presented $500 checks to Milan Elementary, Middle, and High School to assist with their benevolence funds — helping meet student needs throughout the year.

We’re grateful for the dedication of our educators and staff who go above and beyond for Milan’s students every day. Together, we’re making a difference in our community! 💪✨

It’s a GREAT day to be a Rotarian! Today we had a few guests join us:

📚 Tara Neely and Mason Allen, both Milan high school seniors who were nominated by their peers to serve as Junior Rotarians. They shared their extra-curricular activities and what their plans after graduation are.

💊 Next up we had Judge Bradley Owens speak about the Gibson County Opioid Abatement Council and he shared what they are doing for our community!

📚Milan Rotarians Patrick McHale and Anisha Gilley joined in celebrating Basic Education and Literacy Month by participating in the Scholastic School Book Fair! Supporting literacy is one of Rotary’s key areas of focus, and we’re proud to encourage a love of reading in our community’s students. 💙

🎉 We had a big meeting yesterday! We officially welcomed new Ag Research Center Director, Jason Williams, into our Club!

🎓 We welcomed our first two Junior Rotarians of the year — Ava Griffin and Ashton Lewis! Both are seniors at MHS and were nominated by their peers for their leadership and character. 👏

We’d also like to give a big thank you to Isaiah House 117 for being our guest speaker today and sharing about the incredible work they are doing in our community. 💙

🙏 A big thank you to Coach Wade Comer and some of the Milan Bulldog football seniors for joining us at today’s Rotary meeting, as a guest of Superintendent and Rotarian, Dr. Versie Hamlett! 🏈 We enjoyed hearing about these outstanding young men and learning more about their season. Best of luck to the Bulldogs as they continue to make Milan proud—both on and off the field! 💜🐾

The Milan Rotary Club Annual Spaghetti Supper is THIS Friday!!! Tickets are $10 a piece. Meal is catered by Old Town Spaghetti Store.
