Milan Prevention Coalition

Milan Prevention Coalition Milan Prevention Coalition is about the prevention and eradication of unlawful use of drugs and alcohol within the Milan Community.

Milan Prevention Coalition Vision:
A partnership for prevention and eradication of unlawful use of drugs and alcohol within our community. A partnership that will enrich all families through education, prevention and aftercare. We encourage all through education in right decision making that abstinence enables a better tomorrow. We promote a loving, caring atmosphere for all as we strive to make Milan the best "small town" in the nation. We foster those who are committed to their families, values, employment, country and God. We will encourage those who are weak and cheer for those who are strong in the battle of addiction.

The youth-led event, Rock n Run Community gathering was awesome. A group of 50 representing 4 local church youth groups, crossed denominational lines, broke usual routines, and gathered as a community to talk about Christ, health, and wellness.

The result?

Youth and adults engaged in a fun run around the Dyer City Park. And around that track, middle schoolers, high schoolers, and college students alike shared personal struggles about va**ng and mental health.

This is why we do what we do.

Thank you to Gibson Connect for allowing one of your technical support technicians to come help set up. We appreciate your service to the community. We also appreciate those from Gibson Connect who came out later to participate in the run!

Participating churches wete:

🧠 What’s on your mind?

1 in 5 teens faces a mental health challenge—
but most never ask for help. 💬 Sometimes, they don’t have the words. Other times, they’re afraid of how you’ll react. https://www.cdc.gov/children-mental-health/data-research/index.html?

🧠 What can parents do?
Say: “I’m here. No pressure.”

You don’t have to fix it.
You just have to be there.

💛 Listening without judgment opens the door for healing.
