We had the pleasure of hosting an Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) on-site during this month. LMHC Licensed Mental Health Counselors and LPC Central and PROFESSIONAL SOCIAL WORKERS from all over the Midwest came to participate in the training. On the first day, we had these two deer friends pay everyone a vist.

We have received a lot of interest in this training with certain questions on a few key items that we wanted to make everyone aware of:
1. This training is being hosted by Top of the World Ranch. It is being put on by ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy).
2. Accelerated Resolution Therapy is similar to EMDR with its use of eye movements, but different in that: "It is key to note that, although ART is very directive, the clinician does not have to hear any detail. Because ART is procedural, it can even be successful without the clinician hearing any facts, thus helping therapists with compassion fatigue. The focus of ART is to eliminate negative images and sensations to lead the client quickly to resolution. While EMDR is focused on cognitions and free associates during its eight-phase process, ART works to move clients to resolution, whenever possible, in a session."

Welcome, Marcey Millage, ARNP, to the Top of the World Ranch team! She will be assuming the on-site Medical Director role at the Ranch. We are incredibly excited for her to serve our clients. Here is a bit more about Marcey:
"I was born and raised in the Quad Cities. I earned an Associate of Science in nursing degree from Black Hawk College, a Bachelor of Science in biology degree from St Ambrose University, and a Master of Science in Nursing degree from University of St Francis. I began my career in mental health working as a registered nurse in the Robert Young Center inpatient units. There I provided care for adults and adolescents experiencing mental health crises. I also spent time working on the detox and Level III unit, Riverside, where I provided care for those struggling with addiction. Later, I worked as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner at Ricaurte and Associates, an outpatient mental health clinic in Rock Island, where I strived to improve my client's quality of life through medication management. My goal at Top of the World Ranch is to provide thorough assessments and prescribe appropriate medications to ensure our clients experience the best outcome from their stay."

We offer 315 acres of nature, the great healer in abundance, this coupled with our enhanced outdoor features, our hiking and MT biking trail system, our contemplative areas, make Top of the World Ranch Milan one of the greatest treatment centers in the world.
Our facilities are top notch. Our 13,000 sq. ft. Brick Mansion will serve as your treatment/learning center. Our Mansion will also serve as your gym, dining area, pool, games room, counseling offices, intake, yoga studio, and relaxation areas.
Our Brand New, Purpose Built 24 private room residence is one of kind. Each client will have their own room, with queen bed, night stand, granite desk & granite counter in private bathroom. We do this so that the choice to attend treatment is an easier one for you. We do this so that you have some space to decompress, to let the learning of the day sink in. We do this as it gives you the best chance for needed rest. No need to worry about others snoring, or their other bodily functions. Most places charge a much higher price for the privilege of a private room with ensuite. Other centers will go on to tell you that having 2, 3 or 4 to a room will reduce your tendency to isolate. Is that true or are they capitalizing by having multiple payers in one room? Our program is full, you will have ample interaction with others. We have found that having some space and solo time to be highly beneficial to the recovery process.
Each client is assigned a primary counsellor and a continuing care coordinator.
Our staff are highly trained to attend to your individual needs.
We offer one to one counselling sessions throughout your stay.
We begin your continuing care/after care planning soon after you arrive.
We connect you with help and support within your own community including two pre-paid counselling sessions, ranch follow up calls, connections with others in recovery, meetings to attend etc.
You graduate from our program with a clear plan in place for your success. If you stick to the plan that you helped co-create, you will be successful in your recovery. Simple as that.
We offer a variety of group therapies.
We offer an excellent family intensive program that we encourage family members and loved oneâs ages 18 and older to attend. There is no additional fee for this important and impactful service.
We offer thorough and interactive psychoeducational programming.
We facilitate indoor and outdoor experiential therapies.
We offer Mindfulness, Yoga, Chi Gong, guided imagery, relaxation and grounding techniques.
We offer a fully equipped gym with cardio, free weights.
We offer a 63ft indoor lap pool, a commercial size steam room, massage and other holistic treatments.
Our Food: Healthy, and incredible, Top Chefs help to manifest healing from the inside. I cannot overstate how incredible our food is here. We offer healthy and high-end restaurant quality.
