I am producing my first syrup batch today. I am uncertain about the season's prospects, but please inform me if you want cinnamon syrup so I can plan accordingly.
Thank you!

People often ask if there’s much money in selling maple syrup. The short answer? We’re definitely not retiring on syrup sales! 🍁

The math behind every bottle is pretty wild: it takes roughly 40 gallons of sap and hours of intense boiling over a wood fire to produce just one gallon of finished syrup.

What the bottle doesn't show are the miles walked hauling heavy sap buckets through the snow and mud, the days spent splitting wood, and the late nights keeping the evaporator stoked to the perfect temperature. It’s a grueling few weeks of sweat equity, but we do it because we love the tradition.

It might be a lot of work for every drop of 'liquid gold,' but seeing that amber color and smelling the steam makes it worth every bit of effort. Next time you pour some on your pancakes, know there’s a whole lot of heart (and muscle) in that jar! 🪵🔥🍯

For you science geeks (like me).
Here is a photo of the refractometer reading of some of my raw sap. When it is done, it will be between 86-88 brix.

Hoping the weather breaks so we can tap some maple trees! In the meanwhile, been using the 3D printer more!
Printed a larger personalized LEGO minifig, flip flop and starfish earrings, a no soliciting sign, a lid for an antique salt box and a replacement lid for a water bottle!

Also engraved this wayer bottle.

What should I print/make next?

Generally, I don't make many things for myself, but as some of you might know, my cherished outdoor cat disappeared about five weeks ago. He was incredibly dear to me. We had raised him from the time he was in his mother's belly. He would even offer me high fives. I created a memorial ornament for him today.

Think metal spoons ruin honey? Think again—let’s bust this sweet myth wide open! 🍯

Many people believe that honey’s natural acidity reacts poorly with metal utensils, destroying its flavor and precious enzymes. But here’s the truth: this fear mainly applies to old, reactive metals like copper or iron—not modern stainless steel. Stainless steel is specially designed to resist corrosion and chemical reactions, which is why it’s the go-to material for honey processing and storage equipment in the industry.

Every jar of honey you buy has likely been handled using stainless steel tanks, pipes, and spoons—without any negative effects. So that stainless steel spoon in your kitchen drawer? Totally safe for honey! The only real villain to watch out for is heat, which can degrade honey’s natural enzymes and nutrients, not your choice of spoon.

So next time you scoop honey onto your toast or into your tea, don’t worry about the utensil—focus on enjoying that golden sweetness instead. What’s your favorite way to enjoy honey?

Drop your honey habits in the comments and tag a friend who should finally taste the truth! 🐝✨
