Hello, Community!

I wanted to come on and share that I am moving on to an exciting new chapter and opening my own private practice, Felt Sense Psychotherapy.

Felt Sense Psychotherapy is a place for adolescent and adult women ages 16+ to heal trauma, befriend their bodies, regulate their nervous systems, and reclaim their lives as their own again.

Thank you to everyone who has been a part of the community during my time at Prana Centers. Your courage and vulnerability to take steps in the direction of healing is inspirational and motivating.

If you'd like to continue to follow along, please join me over at Amy Williams, LMHC, C-DBT, CYT and visit feltsense.co. There's a lot of exciting things coming your way, including more free offerings and resources!

Thank you again for your presence. Wishing you all the best!

Happy Monday, folks! 🌸

I spent the weekend tucked away at a family lake house. With the support of other adults nearby I felt my nervous system was able to relax and I was able to simply be. I found myself soaking up alll the glimmers. The sound of my baby's heartbeat next to me as we rested together. The way the sunlight sparkled off the snow-crusted lake. The crunching of the wet dirt road under my hiking boots on our family walk. Ahhh, it's as if I'm back there again. 😌✨

But the reality of my current moment is not quite the same. The house is a disaster, there are mountains of laundry to tackle, meals need to be prepped, and my little seedlings need to be repotted (to name a few). Working on finding peace within the chaos because I don't think the chaos actually ever ends. 🤪

I've been a little quiet here recently, as there are several other BIG, exciting things coming down the pipeline! This includes new resources and a new group therapy offering that I will soon be sharing more about! And something else that I'm trying my best to keep on the downlow til the time is just right (soon!) 😉

As a reminder, I will be at the Health and Wellness Spring Show 2023 in Waltham this Sunday, April 2 from 10-3 at the Westin Hotel! I'll be there chatting all things therapy, nervous system, DBT, trauma healing! I'd love for you to come stop by if that's your kind of thing! If you missed out on grabbing a Love Your Nervous System sweatshirt a few years back, I'll be slingin' some nervous system totes so don't miss out! 😛

🗣 1 spot left!

If you’re a parent of a teen, a teen yourself, or spend a lot of time with this population, it’s clear that things can sometimes get, well… intense. 🥴

There are so many changes that take place in this period of life, and since you’ve probably been a teenager yourself before, you know that life as a teen can be a bit of a roller coaster. 😮‍💨

Teen relationships in particular have a tendency to become volatile. Which is why it’s so crucial that teens are equipped with skills to manage the highs and lows that come with being an adolescent (in the age of social media, nonetheless). 💯

This year, with the support of the Lauren Dunne Astley Memorial Fund I am so thankful to offer the next round of DBT Skills Group for Teens at a discounted rate. 🙏🏼

Spots are limited and are already filling up! Link below to sign up! ✔️

Mindfulness: Practice or Buzzword? On the blog!
www.amyaligned.com/blog/mindfulness

▪️Something that’s been buzzing in my head recently is Mindfulness.

▪️When we are mindful, we can notice our thoughts without being overwhelmed by them, feel more calm and relaxed (even in stressful situations), and enjoy the moments we’re in.

👉🏼 This… has not been me recently.

▪️Yet I find myself pausing throughout the day, and listening as if hearing a voice from my higher self gently reminding me - “It’s a practice.”

▪️I find that when life gets chaotic lately, my mindfulness practice has a tendency to *p**f* disappear.

▪️Suddenly I feel spread thin and rushed by real or imaginary deadlines that I give myself.

▪️In fact, it’s precisely in those moments when emails need to be responded to, events need to be planned, children need to be fed, and that I haven’t yet changed out of my pajamas that I need my mindfulness practice the most.

▪️In the Recovery community there’s an expression, “it works if you work it.” With gratitude, I see this phrase fit for the practice of mindfulness as well.

▪️Oftentimes folks come into therapy aware of the term and perhaps somewhat familiar with the concept. However, even with a vague understanding of what mindfulness means, I find that not too many enter into therapy familiar with the actual practice of it.

In other words…. how exactly do you work it?

Is mindfulness actually a practice? Or has it become a diluted buzzword?

▪️Let me walk you through it in my latest blog, Mindfulness: Practice or Buzzword

Want to be more present?

More calm relaxed?

More engaged in your life?

Then you don't want to miss this one! ☺️
