Today’s post is going to be about what YOU can do to help US HELP YOU! Let’s face it, no one is expecting an emergency to happen, but they do. Whether it be a medical emergency such as a heart attack, stroke, serious asthma attack etc or something like a trauma with a broken leg, a vehicle accident or anything else, most people come up blank when asked a serious question about their loved ones information. A super easy fix to this is to either hand write (clearly), type it up (easy to make changes then) or there are many companies that have made up premade info cards that you fill out. Any way is beneficial because—how many people have a pile like the pix below of meds on their table and end up having to throw in a bag and hand all to us? If everything is written or typed up, all a person needs to do is place in a baggy or just tack it on main door where it can be grabbed. Same with a car seat for kiddos, a back pack, diaper bag or purse. You can leave one on the fridge (most of ours look like the one below!!!) just make sure when someone calls 911 you tell them where information is left. Also make sure if it is a neighbor or other loved one they know where your information is listed. This is a simple and easy way to help as the questions here on Freddy’s information sheet are ones we ask! 1. Your name. 2. Date of birth 3. Medications (dosages if you have them) 4. Allergies (medications or environmental/food) 5. Emergency contacts 6. Dr info or hospital preference 7. Past medical history 8. Blood type if you know 9. Medical insurance if available. Having this information ready and available can also help calm a family member so they aren’t scrambling to find this. Freddy, Bubbles amd Blitz all want to say thanks and hope everyone is still staying hydrated!!
