Jeannine, an 85-year-old resident, came to The Elms for short-term rehabilitation after experiencing severe back pain that limited her mobility and ability to perform everyday activities. From day one, she approached therapy with determination, positivity, and an incredible work ethic.

Throughout her stay, Jeannine embraced every therapy session and challenge placed before her. With the support of her rehab team—including nursing staff, providers, social workers, and LNAs—she strengthened her mobility, improved her balance, mastered safe transfers, navigated stairs, and regained independence with daily tasks.

Thanks to her resilience and dedication, Jeannine achieved all of her therapy goals and is now ready to return home with the support of her family and VNS. Her journey is a wonderful reminder of what motivation, teamwork, and compassionate care can accomplish. 💙

Last Wednesday was full of fun and activity for our residents! 🍎 In the morning, talented art students from Milford High School visited and helped paint beautiful rocks for our garden. Then in the afternoon, we celebrated Johnny Appleseed Day by making (and enjoying!) some delicious apple cheesecake together.
