The Winter Solstice will arrive at 10:03am this Sunday, December 21st. This is the most yin day of the year, where the yin energy of stillness, darkness, reflection, and rest hit their peak.
While it doesn’t seem like it if you look at your calendar, this is the time to focus your energy inward and prioritize rest, nourishment, introspection, and self care. You can fortify your energy with soups and warming spices, meditation, gentle yoga, and reflecting and offering gratitude for the year we are leaving behind.
After the solstice we welcome the return of the yang, starting with the tiny seed of yang that exists within the yin. The days will become longer and we will creep towards more yang activity, so we encourage you to savor this moment of deep rest and relaxation this weekend.
