He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for Heroism for rescuing three wounded soldiers while exposing himself to enemy fire without protection. Stephen was an avid sports fan and a lover of “all good times.” His warmth, humor, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Thomas was born and raised in Millbury, graduating from Millbury High School in 1951, playing both football and baseball for the Woolies. He spent 2 years in the Army after graduation. He worked for many years for Standard Lock Washer & Manufacturing Co. He enjoyed playing cards and was an avid fan of the Red Sox and the Patriots. He loved his cars and never drove anything but a Ford. He was a proud member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church.

Lois lived in Millbury all her life, until the last year or so when she moved to be cared for at the Knollwood Nursing Center in Worcester. She graduated from Holy Name Central Catholic High School and went on to work at New England Newspaper Supply Company and Edward Buick as an Office Manager.
