NYSUT is excited to announce that the 3rd annual Collective Care Team Lobby Day will be held on Tuesday, May 5. This year, we’re inviting NYSUT members from across the state to join us for this special day in Albany.
The Collective Care Team is a collaborative team of school counselors, school nurses, school psychologists, and school social workers who work together to ensure student success and address the emotional, physical, and mental needs of students.
On May 5, members from these professions will join NYSUT and the state professional organizations to lobby for bills such as safe staffing, mental health ratios, a nurse in every building, Medicaid reimbursement, and the use of AI chatbots.
Lobby Day will include:
Breakfast at 7:30am
Briefing and information about how to have a meeting with your legislator
Meetings with legislators accompanied by one of NYSUT’s professional lobbyists (you don’t have to do this on your own!)
Boxed lunches to go at the end of the day
If you are interested in attending, please reach out to your local president for registration and more information. If you have any questions about the event, please feel free to reach out to me, or if you are a member of a statewide professional organization, check in with your leaders at NYSSSWA, NYSSCA, NYASP, and NYSASN, who have attended in the past. Registration closes April 20.
