Shout-out to my husband, Willie, for these custom made feet that will be used on our new 20' Γ— 24' greenhouse. These feet will allow us to anchor the greenhouse to the ground while also making it easier to move if ever needed.

Also, thank you to Kodiak Trailers of Lockwood, Missouri for your help in making this project possible. When possible we choose to support local small businesses and you should too! ** Did you know that approximately 70% of small business income goes back into its local community? ** 😊

Keep watch as we post progress of our new greenhouse build along with plant updates. We'll also be sharing news about the farm stand and farmers market soon.

Thank you for your "likes", "shares", "comments" and support. We appreciate each and every one of our followers and customers.

If you start your own seeds you may have struggled to get certain varieties to germinate well.
Last year I discovered that placing them on damp paper towels in a Ziploc keeps the moisture level just right and allows for about 98% germination - the other 2% that don't germinate are likely bad seed.
Once most of the seeds germinate it's time to transplant into a light fluffy soil and place in the greenhouse (or under grow lights if that's what you have!)
Below I started onions, shallots, basil, oregano, blue fescue, lupine, Echinacea, Lavender and a couple others. I've never had so much success with onions until trying this method and I will not be going back.

Happy growing season, friends!

The show must go on regardless of snow and single digit temps!

Yesterday we celebrated Jaksen's 12th Birthday at home with family after we had to postpone his bowling party.

Willie has been hard at work feeding, breaking ice and checking cows over.

We insulated the chicken coop with hay bales surrounding the outer walls to help block the wind and have the lamb in the garage in a dog crate with a heat lamp to stay safe and warm.

We have a couple of hard to mow areas in the yard due to our walk-out basement/retainer wall and being built on the prairie so I'm planning to plant perennial beds that are beneficial for the pollinators and our medicine cabinet. These will also contain a few of my favorites that self-seed.

A few of my favorites that I plan to include are:
Yarrow, Calendula, German Chamomile, Echinacea, Black-Eyed Susan, Lemon Balm, Peppermint, Bee Balm, Lavender πŸͺ»

What are your favorite perennials? Why?

Everyone meet Snowflake, the bottle lamb πŸ‘ Isn't she precious? 😍

The boys have been asking for a lamb to show at the fair so we made their dreams come true.

One thing about us, we don't shy away from something just because it's hard or because we're busy. If you didn't know already - Willie works full time on the family farm, I teach one day a week and sub when I can, we're also expanding the market garden in addition to all the other things we do.

Experiences like showing livestock is a learning opportunity for our boys. Teaching them to be selfless, kind, patient, gentle and responsible for another life is something we feel is important to shape the boys into well rounded humans.

Farming isn't a job, it's a way of life. We care for the animals and the land the way God intended for us. Every life is valued and treated with the best care possible... Even the sale barn special πŸ˜‰

We've been cleaning up the garden to prepare for the upcoming growing season which includes putting up another greenhouse.

The new greenhouse will replace our current Germination Station. It will be heated, have exhaust fans and be 10 times bigger to house seedlings, hanging baskets and more.

We are so excited for the 2026 season and look forward to seeing all of our amazing customers at the farm stand.

Thank you for supporting small farms like ours!

For us quality time is usually spent working because it's the only time we have to spend together (without the kids).

This week that means lunch dates in the field and dozer rides in between my own work.

It's that time!! 😍

I'm sitting down with my seed and supply catalogs today to get my lists together for our annual Morgan Co run and online orders.

After the New Year we will start onion seeds, brassicas and Cole crops.

Happy growing 🌱
