Today Shelby, Avery and I attended HACC to complete an 8 hour hands on continuing education course. We are excited to expand our skills to enhance our ability to help clients.

While we look forward to continuing our education, it is a requirement for licensing in the state of PA. Did you also know anyone practicing massage therapy in PA is required to have completed an education program approved by the Pa State Board of Massage Therapy and pass the MBLEx exam, undergo a criminal history check, submit a CPR certification, and pay the required fees.
After licensing, in order to remain active, we are required to renew every two years with the State Board and complete 24 hours of continuing education biannually.

When I began almost 25 years ago, these requirements were not in place. It has been a huge benefit for the industry as well as protection for the client!

Sorry for the long post, but wanted to share a little educational information to any of you new to massage therapy and provide information on how to confirm if a therapist is licensed.

Important Updates:

Scheduling:
If you are a recurring client, specifically one who needs late afternoons or evenings, we are recommending scheduling at least two sessions out. Schedules are booking out and with the holidays approaching it ensures you have the time frame you need.

Cancellation Policy:
Please review our cancellation policy as we need to strictly enforce it due to limited open appointments and current demand, as well as respect for the therapist’s schedules.
* If you do not give 24 hours notice or if you no show you will be charged 50% of your session fee. An invoice will be sent and it will be expected to be paid before your next session.

This is not new and has been displayed at the office, as well as signed and agreed upon if you completed a health history form from June of 2024 forward.

Gift Certificates:
Gift certificate sales are stopped and only being sold IF the recipient is currently in the books. We unfortunately cannot sell for new clients or those not currently in the schedule as we are approaching the need for a cancel list and are unsure how long we can accommodate new clients. If you are currently holding a gift certificate please contact us to redeem, there may be a wait depending on your availability and our current schedules. Which is the reason we currently are not selling gift certificates going forward.

Avery officially begins her medical leave today. We have tried to work in anyone who wanted to see another therapist until her return. If you were holding off until her return but feel you need in before she gets back please reach out and we will do our best to accommodate. Thank you for being understanding and flexible! Wishing Avery a successful recovery so she can return healed and healthy!!
