Obituary Information for Long Time Dover Plains, New York Resident Nora Elizabeth Stoneall.

Dover Plains – Nora Elizabeth Stoneall, 79, a longtime resident of Dover Plains, New York and Daytona Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 13, 2026 at her daughter’s home in Dover Plains. Nora had a thirty-three-year career with New York State, where she worked as a therapy aide at the former Harlem Valley Psychiatric Center in Wingdale, NY, and the former Hudson River Psychiatric Center in Poughkeepsie, NY, prior to her retirement on March 30, 2000.

Born in Ogdensburg, NY, on October 21, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Hilarion and Marie (Newton) Mayette. Nora graduated with the class of 1966 from Dover Jr. & Sr. High School in Dover Plains. She was predeceased in death by second husband Frederick “Rick” Stoneall. Nora enjoyed gambling and playing the slot machines at numerous casinos with her daughter Yvette. She also enjoyed vacationing in Lake George, NY, and traveling with her friends. She will be dearly missed by loving family.

Nora is survived by her daughter, Yvette Vinci and her husband Joseph of Dover Plains and her daughter Wendy Bouffard of Nashville, TN; her brother, Kenneth Mayette and his wife Sherry of Brooksville, FL, and her sister, Donna Woodin and her husband Tippy of Daytona Beach, FL; four grandchildren, Alisa Wood and her husband Michael of Dover Plains, Joseph Vinci and his wife Katie of Louisburg, NC, Anthony Vinci of Belgium and Mark Vinci and his wife Anna of Pawling, NY; five great grandchildren, Mila and Lana Wood, Joseph and Ashlynn Vinci and Vanna Vinci; four nieces, Michelle, Stacey and Deanna and Sarena; two nephews, Kenneth and David, and her very dear friends, Jo-An Stone and Judy Ball.

Obituary Information for Longtime Area Resident Deborah Ann Wilkerson.

Millerton – Deborah Ann Wilkerson, 66, a longtime area resident died Monday, March 2, 2026 at Sharon Hospital in Sharon, CT, following a brief illness. Never one to sit still, Deborah worked as a waitress at the Millerton Diner, Taro’s, and Brothers Pizza throughout her long career. She also owned and operated the Tri-State Pub & Grill in Millerton for a number of years and had formerly worked at Rexall Drugs.

Born September 29, 1959 in Poughkeepsie, NY, she was the daughter of the late George and Nancy (Hamilton) Hobbs. She was a graduate of Webutuck High School in Amenia and attended and graduated from the Cosmetology Program at Dutchess County B.O.C.E.S in Salt Point, NY. Deborah was an avid reader who enjoyed car rides and spending time with her beloved family and grandchildren. For many years she played pool in local leagues and also bowled for many years. She was a longtime member of the Millerton Presbyterian Church as well. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and many friends.

Deborah is survived by her husband of thirty-one years, William Haviland of Millerton; five children, Christopher Wilkerson and his wife Heather of Copake, NY, Shannon Clark and his wife Jamie of Pine Plains, NY, Tony Clark and his girlfriend Megan Duprey of Hillsdale, NY, Will Haviland and his wife Emma of Craryville, NY and Mike Haviland of Utah; her sister, Carol Lang and her husband Paul and her brother Claude Krackenberg; twenty-one grandchildren and six great grandchildren and many friends.

Obituary and Funeral Information for Lifelong Area Resident Arthur Joseph "Junior" Tanner, Jr.

Millerton - Arthur Joseph “Junior” Tanner, Jr., 87, a lifelong area resident died peacefully on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at Sharon Hospital in Sharon, CT, with his family at his bedside. Mr. Tanner worked as a truck driver and warehouse manager for Arnoff Moving and Storage in Lakeville, CT, for 35 years before starting his own business, Tanners Home Services, LLC in Millerton, NY, which is still in operation today.

Born June 13, 1938 in Sharon, CT, he was the son of the late Arthur Joseph and Bertha (McCauley) Tanner, Sr. Mr. Tanner was educated in Millerton Schools. On September 24th he married Roberta Gladys Twing. Mrs. Tanner survives at home in Millerton. Mr. Tanner was an avid hunter and fisherman and he enjoyed logging and spending time at his cabin. Mr. Tanner was a life member of the Millerton Gun Club and the North American Hunt Club as well.

In addition to his wife Roberta, he is also survived by four children, Arthur Tanner III and his wife Dorothy, Sheila Stickles and her husband Thomas, Joanne Sweeney and her husband Donald all of Millerton and Rita Ezersky and her husband Pat of Lakeville; three sisters, Gloria Stickles of Pine Plains, NY, Diane Baker of Dryden, NY, and Virginia Whitbeck of Lakeville; his brother, Charles Tanner of Cambridge, NY, his daughter-in-law Molly of Norfolk, CT, twelve grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his son, James A. Copake – Linda M. Sands, 69, a lifelong area resident died unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson, NY. Linda worked as a cook in various places throughout her career, including her parents’ restaurants, The Gateway Diner and Sands Millerton Diner. Prior to her retirement she worked at Town of the Towne Deli in Millerton, NY.

Born March 28, 1956 in Sharon, CT, she was the daughter of the late Douglas L. and Hilda M. (Palmer) Sands. Linda attended school in the Webutuck School District in Amenia, NY. Linda loved to camp, fish and spend time in the outdoors. She was an avid cat lover and enjoyed taking care of her three cats. In the evenings she looked forward to regular visits from the deer that would visit her property in Copake. She will be deeply missed by all.

Linda is survived by her husband, Ronald Jones of Copake, NY; two daughters, Carrie Wessel and her husband Wesley of Ancram, NY, and Brenda Sands and her companion David of Amenia, NY, and her stepdaughter, Tina Jones McAlister and her husband Jeff of Oregon; her sister and best friend, Katherine Acklin of Millerton, NY; two brothers, Larry Sands and his wife Linda of Stephentown, NY, and Douglas Sands of Millerton; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Robert Herbert "Bob" Cookingham Obituary

Millerton – Robert Herbert “Bob” Cookingham, 83, a lifelong area resident died Monday, February 2, 2026 at Sharon Hospital in Sharon, CT. Mr. Cookingham was a retired equipment operator and supervisor with the New York State Department of Transportation based at the Wassaic Sub-Station in Wassaic, NY. He retired on April 2, 1998 after a long and respected career with the NYS DOT.

Born August 24, 1942 in Sharon, CT, he was the son of the late Herbert and Viola (Moore) Cookingham of Pine Plains, NY. He was educated locally and married Joanne R. Palmer in 1961, their marriage lasted sixty-three years. Mrs. Cookingham died on November 1, 2024. Bob loved his family and enjoyed deer hunting, bass fishing and trout fishing in his spare time. He was a proud cancer survivor since 2017 and will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.

Bob is survived by three children, Bernadette Downey and her husband Robert of Florida, Brenda Valyou of Florida and Robert Cookingham, Jr., and his wife Nancy of Millerton, NY; two brothers, Richard Cookingham and his wife Vicky of Millerton and David Cookingham and his wife Carla of Pine Plains, NY; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was predeceased by a son, James Cookingham of Millerton.

The family wishes to thank Dick and Vicky Cookingham for caring for Bob and for going above and beyond to make his last days as comfortable as possible. Thank you to Patty Bathrick for visiting him every day at his home and thank you to the folks at Meals-On-Wheels for their hot meals and smiling faces.

Obituary and Celebration of Life Information for Lifelong Area Resident Raymond E. Wheeler, Jr.

Amenia – Raymond Emanuel Wheeler, Jr., 72, a lifelong area resident died Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at Sharon Hospital in Sharon, CT. Ray worked for the Town of Amenia Highway Department for twenty-three years and for the New York State Department of Transportation in Wassaic, NY, for ten years prior to his retirement in 2010. Ray also assisted in running the family business in Wassaic for over thirty years.

Born November 6, 1953 in Sharon, Connecticut, he was the son of the late Raymond E. and Helen C. (Chase) Wheeler, Sr. He was educated in Amenia, NY, schools and served his community for decades as a member of the Wassaic Fire Company and The Sharon Fire Department in Connecticut. He was an avid turkey and deer hunter throughout his life and he enjoyed socializing with his many friends and taking car rides throughout the valley regularly. Ray also enjoyed spending time with his family and watching the races at Lebanon Valley Speedway. He will be deeply missed by his loving family and many friends.

Ray is survived by his companion of twenty years, Karen Ellis of Amenia; four sons, Raymond E. Wheeler of Spring Hill, FL, Michael R. Wheeler and his wife Justine also of Spring Hill, Thomas E. Wheeler and his wife Alicia of Wassaic and Christopher Ellis; his grandchildren, Branden Wheeler, Zachary Wheeler and his wife Katie, Kaden Wheeler, Michael Wheeler, Jr. and his wife Michele, Alyssa Wheeler, Thomas Wheeler and his girlfriend Kenzie Milton and Kaylee Wheeler and her boyfriend Nick; four great grandchildren, Mason, Layton, Michael III and Cole Wheeler; his siblings, Emily Tarbox and her husband Carl, Rachel Wheeler, Sharon McEathron and her husband Daryl and Helen Murphy and her husband William and several nieces and nephews. Obituary and Funeral Information for Lifelong Area Resident Donald H. E. Weaver III. Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Brother.

Millerton – Donald Harry Earl Weaver III, 59, a lifelong area resident died unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at Sharon Hospital in Sharon, CT, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Mr. Weaver worked for seventeen years at Flood’s Sanitation Service in Millerton, NY, as a truck driver and for eighteen years at Taylor Oil, Inc. in Dover Plains, NY, as a plumber and service technician prior to his retirement.

Born January 2, 1967 in Sharon, CT, he was the son of the late Donald H.E. Weaver, Sr. and Alice (Funk) Weaver. He attended Webutuck High School in Amenia, NY. On August 22, 1988 in Millerton, NY, he married the love of his life Diann Lynn Duprey. Mrs. Weaver survives at home in Millerton. Mr. Weaver was a fantastic guitar player and played with the Fender Benders Band locally for many years, he also collected guitars. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed collecting and tinkering with classic cars, trucks and tractors. Mr. Weaver served his community for several decades as a member of Ancram Volunteer Fire Company in Ancram, NY, where he was awarded Life Membership status for his many years of dedicated service.

In addition to his wife Diann, Mr. Weaver is survived by three sons, Justin Weaver and his companion Monica Hiserodt of Ancram, James Weaver and his fiancé Taylor Hall of Pine Plains, NY, and Joshua Weaver and his wife Emily of Copake, NY; four grandchildren, Jacob, Waylon, Weston and Lianey Weaver; his sister, Donna Smalls of Millerton; his mother-in-law Elinor Duprey of Millerton and several nieces and nephews and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his infant brother, Donald H.E. Weaver II and his father-in-law, Robert C. Duprey.

Obituary and Funeral Information for Lifelong Amenia, NY, resident Lana A. Anguin.

Lana Audrey Anguin, 80, a lifelong area resident, died peacefully on Sunday, December 28, 2025 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT. Lana dedicated nearly twenty-five years of her life to the Town of Amenia where she was the secretary and administrative assistant to the Amenia Town Supervisor from 1988 to 2012; she also worked closely with the Town of Amenia Planning Board and the Zoning Board of Appeals overseeing project administration for many years. Lana also worked at the Wassaic Developmental Center in the late 60’s and early 70’s in the recreation department and she worked part time for the Red Hen Sign Co. in Amenia.

Born November 16, 1945 in Sharon, CT, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Edith (Brothers) Anguin. Lana was a graduate of Webutuck High School and attended Dutchess Community College. On December 1, 1973 in Sharon, CT, she married Heyward “Woody” Cary Cohen. Mr. Cohen died on August 1, 2014. For many years Lana was a Girl Scout Leader for Troop 19 in Amenia and taught arts and crafts during summer recess. She was a devoted caregiver to her mother and father for many years and was an avid animal lover. She adored cats and dogs and was a proud supporter of the Pet & Wildlife Fund. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling abroad, theater performances, cooking and baking and watching television, a good cup of coffee, going out to restaurants and watching movies at The Moviehouse in Millerton with her daughter. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and many friends.

Lana is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Anguin-Cohen and her companion George Kormendi of New York, NY and her sister, Donna Bavis of Rhinebeck, NY. Lana will be lovingly remembered by her niece, Jennifer Segelken and her husband Michael of Millerton, NY, her nieces Elaine Whalen and Audrey Bavis and her nephew, Peter Bavis and her great nephews, Christopher and Tyler Segelken and great nieces, Kirsten Mitchell and Emily Whalen. In addition to her parents and husband, Lana was also predeceased by her sister, Elaide Gahn of East Corinth, VT.

Sharon – Joan Marie Wilbur, 83, a seventy-two year resident of Sharon, CT, died peacefully on Monday evening, December 22, 2025 at Sharon Hospital in Sharon, CT. Mrs. Wilbur had a forty-year career as a licensed practical nurse in Sharon, she began at Sharon Hospital and subsequently worked for Dr. Brewer, Dr. Gott, Sharon Pediatrics, Dr. Rashkoff and ultimately finished her career caring for patients at Sharon Health Care Center.

Born January 2, 1942 in Colchester, VT, she was the daughter of the late Jerome and Catherine (Casey) Bushey. On September 14, 1963 in Lakeville, CT, she married the love of her life, Edward Howard Wilbur and their loving marriage spanned for over six decades. Mr. Wilbur survives at home in Sharon. Mrs. Wilbur enjoyed playing golf, bowling, dancing, horses and caring for their beloved pets. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends. She will be dearly missed by all.

Village of Millerton – Arthur John Heck, 89, a lifelong area resident died Sunday, December 7, 2025 at Sharon Center for Health and Rehabilitation in Sharon, CT. Mr. Heck worked in the Maintenance Department and drove school bus at Webutuck Central School District in Amenia, NY, for over thirty-years, prior to his retirement on January 31, 1998.

Born September 3, 1936 in the Bronx, NY, he was the only son of the late Arthur K. and Dorothy (Deusenberry) Heck. Art graduated in 1954 with the last class at Millerton High School in Millerton. He served our country in the United States Naval Reserves from 1955 to 1962 when he received his honorable discharge as a “SR”/Seaman Recruit. On April 10, 1999 in Millerton, NY, he married Donna L. Duncan. Mrs. Heck survives at home in Millerton. In his spare time, he was an avid train enthusiast and collector. In his younger years he was a parishioner of the North East Baptist Church. He will be dearly missed by his loving family and many friends.

In addition to his wife of nearly twenty-seven years, he is also survived by two sons, John Heck and his wife Cindy of Millerton and Wayne Heck and his wife Debbie of Hudson, NY; two step-daughters, Tammy Nadeau of Winsted, CT, and Rebecca Korot of Torrington, CT; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Obituary and Visitation Information for Village of Millerton Resident, Patricia Kim Leslie. Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Sister.

Village of Millerton – Patricia Kim Leslie, 71, a three-year resident of Millerton, NY, formerly of Poughquag, NY, since 1980, died peacefully on Thursday, November 27, 2025 surround by her loving family in Millerton. Mrs. Leslie retired from Beekman Elementary School on July 1, 2018 following an over twenty-year career as a teaching assistant.

Born April 5, 1954, in Mount Kisco, NY, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Patricia (Dwyer) Newman. She was a graduate of Pleasantville High School and received her associate degree from Westchester Community College. On October 18, 1975 she married William F. Leslie. Bill and Pat celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on October 18, 2025. Bill survives at home in Millerton. Pat was an avid reader and enjoyed crafting, knitting, gardening, traveling to Rhode Island and Marta’s Vineyard on vacations and spending time with her beloved grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and many dear friends.

In addition to her husband Bill, Pat is survived by three children, Christopher Leslie and his wife Emma Sampedro of Millerton, Meghen Bathrick and her husband Andrew of Pine Plains, NY and her son, Justin Leslie of Millerton; six grandchildren, Isabela, Alex, Isaac, Brooke, Lukas and Tucker; her sister, Kip Newman of Poughquag and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025 from 4-7pm at the Scott D. Conklin Funeral Home, 37 Park Avenue, Millerton, NY 12546. Funeral services and burial at Irondale Cemetery will be private. Pastor William Mayhew will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the North East-Millerton Library, P.O.
