Meraki Fitness and Pole

Meraki Fitness and Pole Meraki Fitness and Pole offers a personal approach to fitness, movement and body work. I believe that the body is interconnected.

Muscle work:
Overuse, injury, stress and diet can all impact our body and how it functions. If our physical body hurts, chances are that our mental and emotional state will also feel less then optimal...and so the downward spiral begins of pain and reduced activity. I use a technique derived from the founder of Applied Kinesiology, George Goodheart. He believed muscle tightness is due to a weakness found elsewhere in the body. When the body senses a weakness, it tightens up to create stability. I work WITH the body to locate that weakness through a series of checks and balances. I seeks to improve the neuromuscular communication (how the brain communicates with the muscles and vice versa) by applying specific forces on the body to restore optimal function. This results in a more balanced muscular system that often leads to a reduction of tension and pain. Range of motion and strength may also improve. I am also a Certified Personal Trainer who specialized in both traditional training methods but also Pole Fitness. If you roll the Muscle Specialist, Personal Trainer and Pole Fitness trainer into one, you get a well-rounder fitness specialist!

In a world that often praises speed and busyness (I often struggle with this), I try to fight back from time to time and slow down to savor the little glimmers of light that we often look past.

This is far from a glamorous photo but there is a bigger message I want to share than what you see on the surface.
It sounds cliché, and I know you have seen the message before, but we are like boats in the water. Some are rowboats, kayaks, speed boats, yachts… You get the idea. Each one has a different experience both “good” and “bad” (if you need definitive words and labels) It is not fair to compare one to the other.

Many people have looked at me and have the assumption that motivation comes easy for me however that is not true. I have my own hangups, lack of motivation and downright mental funks at times! The key for me is to focus on the bigger picture and finding the positivity in knowing that I am capable of moving my body and strive to honor that. By doing so, I hope that it carries me into the later years with better health and wellness and further allows me to do the things I enjoy for as long as possible.
