The doctors and staff at West TN Eye at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Tipton have set up a direct line for those impacted by the storm in need of vision and medical eye care. 919-909-3400

Our doctors are seeing patients on Saturday and Sunday for anyone with eye injuries. Storm related injury patients are being examined at no cost to the patient.

Our team will work with any patient and their prescribing doctor to get free replacement medications for glaucoma or other eye diseases.

We are also providing free glasses and repairs to those who lost or damaged their glasses in the tornado.

On Tuesday, June 6, 2021 we learned that a team member who ONLY works with Dr Cooper tested positive for COVID and was symptomatic. Oddly, this person is "fully vaccinated" by CDC definition.

It is possible the test result was inaccurate (falsely positive); however out of an abundance of caution Dr. Cooper’s team will suspend all patient care temporarily awaiting additional test results.

Dr Talley and his team will continue to see patients as scheduled. Dr. Cooper's team has not worked in the same building, at the same time with Dr. Talley's team in over a year to avoid the risk of COVID affecting both teams.

All of Dr Cooper's patients scheduled for June 9 - 13 will be rescheduled for a later date. Cooper's unvaccinated team members will quarantine based on CDC guidelines and are unavailable to assist Dr. Cooper with patient care.

There is no need to call to reschedule as we are operating with significantly reduced staff. We will call you ASAP.

CDC guidelines for wearing masks still apply to unvaccinated people and while in a doctor's office or on an airplane. Therefore, all patients and staff had been asked to wear masks during the time the COVID positive team member was in the building.

This person was NOT in the Covington office on Monday, June 7. This person was only in the Millington office from 8:30AM until lunch on Tuesday, June 8.

If you were in our Millington office during that time period on June 8, we encourage you to visit www.cdc.gov for more information or contact your primary care provider's office.
