As we approach this year's season of giving thanks, I am especially grateful for those in the veterinary profession, the dedicated racing connections who stand by their horses for life, and the amazing Thoroughbreds who teach us what really matters. My mare, Sadie's Magic (Street Magician), has take...

"Dear Friends: If you are linked to a person on social media who works in veterinary medicine you may have noticed them changing their profile picture to include "NOMV" with the Rod of Asclepius. Some of you may know, but if you don't, NOMV stands for Not One More Vet. Because we have one of the highest su***de rates of any profession. When you see your friend or social media acquaintance change their profile, it's usually because they have learned of another colleague that succumbed to su***de. Be kind to your veterinary staff. From the front desk staff, technicians, kennel attendants and doctors. We are literally dying trying to help you.
We lost three veterinarians to su***de this week. I didn’t know any of them personally, but their loss in the profession is felt by us all and breaks my heart."

Muletide Greetings and Happy Holidays to all!

Warm holiday wishes from the New Jersey Equine Clinic

To our valued clients,

The New Jersey Equine Clinic hopes you and your family remain healthy and are taking measures to ensure your safety and wellbeing while coping with the many challenges and changes brought upon all of us during the unprecedented COVID-19 health crisis.

We want to assure you that throughout the COVID-19 pandemic we will continue to work diligently to provide you and your horses with the best care and support possible while ensuring the safety of our employees so we can remain available for your needs.

As of 9:00 PM on Saturday, March 21, 2020, the state of New Jersey mandated new standards for businesses resulting in the following changes to the New Jersey Equine Clinic’s normal operations and client policies:

1. Accepting patients for emergency and/or medically urgent conditions only. Elective cases can be rescheduled by calling our office (732-786-0662).

2. Restricted client access to patients and clinic facilities. Animal admission/discharge will be confined to the driveway and parking lot areas. Clients should call the office (732-786-0662) at the time of arrival and an NJEC staff member will come outside to the trailer to unload/load the patient.

3. Patient visitation is no longer allowed but may be permitted under extenuating circumstances and with prior approval by an NJEC clinician. Clients may be required to wear personal protective equipment if extenuating circumstances prevail.

4. NJEC clinicians remain available to consult with clients and referring veterinarians on any clinical cases and/or address patient concerns.

We are committed to doing our part to reduce community exposure to the virus while providing continued veterinary service for your horses. We thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate through these changing times together!
