Today is World day.

✅ Keratoconus is characterized by thinning of the cornea which gradually bulges outward in a cone shape, resulting in visions loss.

✅ The condition affects 1 in 700 individuals

✅ Management involves slowing down progression and improving vision, often through specialty contact lenses (one of the services we offer!)

✅ Dr. Mike Wong - Dr. Mike Wong is a full-time assistant clinical professor at the UC Berkeley School of Optometry. He received his bachelor’s degree in psychobiology from UCLA, master’s degree in global medicine from USC, and doctorate degree in optometry from UC Berkeley. He also completed a research fellowship at the Schepens Eye Institute at Harvard Medical School. After optometry school he pursued additional training at the Michael G. Harris Cornea and Contact Lens Residency at UC Berkeley, where he developed a special interest in managing myopia in children and fitting specialty contact lenses for corneal diseases such as keratoconus.

✅ Dr.Aaron Neufeld - Born and raised in the Bay Area, Dr. Neufeld obtained his B.S. in Biology from UCLA and his O.D. degree from Southern College of Optometry, where he graduated with honors. He was ranked in Newsweeks Top 150 Optometrists in the Nation in both 2021 and 2022. In addition to being a clinician, Dr. Neufeld has given Continuing Education lectures to fellow optometrists, served on expert panels, and has written many articles on topics such as specialty contact lenses and myopia control for optometric publications.
