This is information about Enterovirus D68 that was mentioned in the news today. It is not a new virus so we shouldn’t be overworried. Acute Flaccid Myelitis ( weakness or paralysis of arms and legs) caused by this virus is also not new and we have treatments. However, the outcome is uncertain at this time. The best prevention is to practice good hygiene, good lifestyle (exercise and healthy entertainments), and healthy diet. We can do it!

Parechovirus is an enterovirus that could cause meningitis. Infants and toddlers are at risk of suffering from this virus. Fever, rash, neurological and sepsis-like symptoms (delirium, headache, excessive fussiness, not eating and drinking) should be aware by all parents.

At least one newborn died in June after contracting a dangerous form of parechovirus, and the CDC says it is circulating in "multiple states."
