Robert C. Edwards

Robert (Bob) Charles Edwards, 75 of Colchester, passed away at the Elderwood at Burlington on March 9th, 2026. He was born in New Haven, CT, to James and Mary (née Regan) Edwards on June 18th, 1950.

Bob graduated from St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati, OH in 1968 and then went on to Temple University in Philadelphia, PA where he graduated with a degree in Comparative Religion in 1972. He continued his studies at Bryn Mawr College, earning his MA in 1981 in Clinical Psychology and an additional endorsement as a School licensed psychologist. Bob resided most of his adult life in Havertown, PA and worked for most of his career as the Director of Outpatient Mental Health at Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital in Philadelphia.

Growing up, Bob developed a love for swimming and music, spending time playing the trumpet and was first chair in his high school band. His connection to the water stayed with him throughout his life; while in graduate school he even worked as a lifeguard. Bob always loved being near the water, especially sailing on the Chesapeake, where he could relax, enjoy the breeze, and read a good book; he was an avid reader of history books and suspense novels. Throughout his life he has also been a devoted dog lover, with dogs (Penfold, Merlin, Arwin, and many more from childhood) always being an important part of his home and daily routine.

Following college football and basketball was another big part of his life. Every spring he looked forward to watching the excitement of March Madness, following the games closely and enjoying the unpredictability of the tournament. When not watching sports, he could be found outside grilling or on a mission to find the best crab cakes around.

Robert is survived by his daughters Charlotte Edwards, and Molly Edwards (Sean MacArdle), his grandchildren, Rowan Honour (21), Galen Seamus (18), Ewan Rhys (15), and Torin Fergus (12). He is also survived by his former wife, Elizabeth Edwards, sisters Pam (Alan) Seabright, and Amy (Jeff) Clark as well as his niece and nephews.

Bob is predeceased by his loving parents, Mary and James Edwads.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Chittenden County Humane Society.

Chiara Beaudette

Chiara Beaudette (Monfreda), 81, of Milton, Vermont passed away peacefully, surrounded by love and family in the early morning of March 9th, 2026.

Chiara was born on May 3rd, 1944 in Cassamassima, Italy. She was the daughter of Vincenzo Monfreda and Lucia Vita Monfreda (Radogna) and was one of 11 siblings. In 1964, at the age of 20 she immigrated to the United States with her 3 youngest siblings. She settled in Burlington, Vermont temporarily where she worked as a professional seamstress while learning English and the ways of her new world. It was during this time that she purchased her first apartment building in Essex, Vermont where she then resided while beginning her career at IBM up until she retired at the age of 49. At age 26, she put roots down in Milton, Vermont for good when she purchased her home as well as 2 more rental properties there. Chiara gave birth to two sons. Travis Beaudette and Jeremy Beaudette, raising them as a single mother, while maintaining her career and rental properties, never neglecting her strong family values and instilling them in her children and grandchildren. In 1990 Charles Thibault stepped into her life. The two became beloved life partners for the next 36 years, laughing, traveling and sharing many great experiences together. She loved to garden and maintain her land. She spent most of her retirement tending to it, thus making her gardens legendary. She would spend hours just sitting in solitude with her flowers watching and listening to the birds and the bees come and go during those long summer evenings. It was her favorite pastime when life slowed down on occasion. She loved mowing the lawn and mulching her leaves. The tractor became her place of solace and she rode it right up until the end. When she wasn’t working she enjoyed cooking and baking. In her retirement, she was able to hone her skills and took great joy in hosting the family get-togethers and trading recipes with her children. The true joy in her life arrived when she was able to care for and help raise her grandchildren, whom she loved so very deeply…teaching them the valuable life lessons and work ethic she had learned growing up in poverty in post WWII Italy.

Chiara’s story cannot possibly be whittled down to one paragraph. She lived an astonishingly full and rewarding life, with many peaks and valleys. She persevered over every obstacle that life ever presented to her with amazing grace. Her memory and the example of hard work and compassion she set will live on in every person that had the privilege to know her beautiful soul.

Chiara was preceded in death by her parents, Vincenzo and Lucia Monfreda; Her brothers, Pasquale, Stephano, Donato, Vito, Joseph “Guiseppe”; her sisters, Margherita, Angela, Carmella, Cecilia, Mellina; her beloved partner, Charles Thibault whom made her feel complete and her precious grandson Preston Beaudette.

Chiara is survived by her two sons, Travis Beaudette (Liza) and Jeremy Beaudette (Maya); Her grandchildren, Reagan, Jackson, Ariston, Casten, and Adisen; Charles’ sons, Rick Thibault, Scott Thibault (Lisa) and Shawn Thibault (Stacy).

Services will be held at St. Ann Church in Milton on April 10th, 2026 beginning at 11:00AM. Burial to immediately follow at St. Ann Cemetery.

Jeannine Dubuque

Jeannine Leah Dubuque, 96, died peacefully at home on Friday March 13, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Jeannine was born May 4, 1929. She was predeceased by her husband Wilfred Joseph Dubuque in 2005.

Born & raised in Grand Isle where she spent most of her life, she would often share stories of growing up during the Great Depression. Jeannine was a wealth of information, sharing incredible “back in the day” stories of what it was like being raised in a family of 10. Going to a one room schoolhouse with a raw potato in hand, carving in her initials and putting it on the wood stove for her lunch.

At age 13, Jeannine won a national contest for collecting the most scrap metal, which was used to build 3 ships during World War II. When the contest was over, her small country school of 31 students collected the most scrap metal and was awarded a $100 prize in the form of a war bond. Jeannine received top honors for collecting the most scrap metal. Because of this effort, she was chosen to christen the Calvin Coolidge Ship - 1 of 3 ships built from the collected scrap metal. She also received a personal letter from Grace Coolidge, thanking her for efforts. At the age of 80, Jeannine donated the bottle in a box, newspaper clippings and other items from the ship’s christening to the Vermont Historical Society, to document local efforts during World War II for future generations.

Jeannine loved her perennial gardens & working the landscape. “Playing in the dirt is good for the soul,” she would say.

The kiss of the sun for pardon

The song of the birds for mirth

One is nearer God‘s heart in a garden

than anywhere else on earth.

Jeannine especially enjoyed spending time with her children and their families. A mother of 7 (6 daughters & 1 son), she leaves behind:

Angela and Jeff Poitras of Londonderry NH Bev and Doug Corrow of Morrisville VT Gary and Martha Dubuque of Walden Vt Janice and Curtis Brusoe of St Albans Vt Pam and Steve Bartlett of Williston Vt Kathy and Jay Buermann of Milton Vt

Jocelyn Dubuque and Pete Johnson of Grand Isle Vt

Along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, she also leaves behind her sister Janet Winegar, her brother, Hank Baker and his wife, Alice.

Our hearts will be forever full when we hear a John Denver song or enjoy a good maple creemee!

There will be a private funeral service.

Running a business is no joke, funeral homes are not exempt from that. At times I feel like it the worst for a work life balance. Been out and about all evening/morning. As I sit here at Home Depot with a few minutes until it opens up, one of the best songs that describes funeral service ( to me at least ) comes up from my play list. In it some of the lyrics are “And I don’t want the world to see me, because I don’t they would understand. When everything is made to be broken I just want you to know who I am”. In this moment I’m reminded of how everyone is going through their own struggles and how a warm smile, a door being opened, or any act of kindness, can bring a smile to someone’s face. Be kind to everyone, ya never know how much that random act of kindness can mean to someone.

Richard Taylor

Richard Errol Taylor

9/24/1953-2/27/2026

Growing up in Chester County, Pennsylvania, Rick spent his summers working as a tender for his father’s masonry business, skills he used for years on his own masonry projects. Rick attended elementary through high school in Unionville, PA where he was known to his friends as Rich.

Prior to starting college, Rick studied for a year overseas, in the UK, at Oxford University, Pembroke College. Rick received his Bachelor’s degree in Biology at Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA, then moved to Denver to study Theater Arts, landing a national commercial for Benihana Japanese restaurants.

Rick had a deep love and knowledge of perennial plants, trees and landscape design. He worked with nurseries, landscape businesses and private clients to design both commercial properties and private gardens. His design specialty was to always have something beautiful growing throughout the year.

Rick also had a deep love of animals. He adopted, or was adopted by, a raccoon he named Ginger, who lived in their house and slept on Rick’s pillow, his many rescue cats, of which his most recent, also Ginger, remained next to Rick as he transitioned.

When Annie met Rick, their weekends were largely spent on his sailboat, where they had their first date. Sailing on his beloved Chesapeake Bay, with friends, was such a joy to him, for so many years. When he did give up his boat, he decided to donate it to the local Boy Scout troop in Maryland, the camp where he spent so many summers as a boy.

Rick was a lifelong Philadelphia Eagles fan, and watching them win both the 2018 and 2025 Super Bowls was a wonderful gift to him. Each season he made sure that every single game, regardless of the location, was watched and recorded to enjoy again and again.

Rick is survived by his wife of 31 years, Annie Ravdin Taylor, his brother Bill Taylor, sister-in-law, Sonya Taylor, niece Heather Taylor of Oxford, PA, and his nephew Timothy Taylor of Jeannette, PA. Rick’s son, Max Taylor, pre-deceased him, in 2022. His sister-in-law Susan Ravdin, and her husband Wilfrid de Freitas, of Montreal, his brother-in-law, Glenn Ravdin, of South Hero, Vermont, who pre-deceased him in 2019, his sister-in-law Kimberly Ravdin, her partner Peter Gibbs, and Kim’s children, Marel Ravdin, Dylan Ravdin, his wife Briana and their son James, of New York.

Annie had lifelong deep ties to Vermont, so nearing their retirement dates, she asked Rick to find them a house near Lake Champlain, which he did and they moved up with their 4 cats to West Swanton, Vermont, in 2017.

Rick was so thankful to his dear friends and family for their love and support throughout his life and particularly during his illness.

A memorial service will be planned for a future date, details pending; the burial of his ashes will be private.

In lieu of flowers, please give a donation, in Rick’s honor, to the Franklin County Animal Rescue, https://www.franklincountyanimalrescue.org/, or to your preferred local animal shelter to help the many pets who give so much more than they often receive and add such great joy to all of our lives ~

Courtland Perry Jr

Courtland “Court” Eugene Perry Jr., 74, of Grand Isle, VT, passed away, surrounded by his loving family at the University of Vermont Medical Center on February 23, 2026. He was born October 15, 1951, to Silvette (Hastings) and Courtland E. Perry Sr., in Montpelier, Vermont. Court graduated from Montpelier High School in 1969 and then attended Northeastern University where he was first introduced to the construction industry.

Court was a hardworking, humble, kind, athletic, funny, and faithful man devoted to family, friends, and community. His love for the outdoors, problem solving, and working with others was fully expressed throughout his career as a heavy construction estimator and project manager. Known for his smile and laugh, he left a lasting mark throughout Vermont and New England, from his role in the early 80’s as the young project manager for the construction of Burlington's landmark Church Street Marketplace, to his most recent project as the experienced volunteer construction manager for the Knight Point State Park Pickleball Courts in North Hero.

Court believed in marriage and family. He was quoted as saying, “I like being married and family is everything.” He and his adored wife and best friend, Donna recently celebrated 50 years of marriage. He supported his two sons through their formative years: Roth in the launch and operation of his construction company, and Chad during his service as a Marine, serving overseas in Iraq. Cherished memories were made at the family camp on Caspian Lake in Greensboro, VT, a place that brought together multiple generations, from his grandparents to his grandchildren, as well as many close and extended family members and friends. He and Donna enjoyed escaping Vermont winters for trips to Florida, which began when his own family was young, visiting his in-laws and later providing similar shared experiences to his two grandsons.

Court’s volunteer and community service positions began early. As a high school volunteer with the Ski Patrol at Bolton Valley, he notably saved a young girl's life and fostered a lifelong passion for helping others. Later, he served by coaching his sons' sports teams and sitting on various local town boards. In retirement, he continued his community service by serving on the Islands Pickleball Association Board, as a water commissioner for the Grand Isle Consolidated Water District, as a church volunteer, and by consistently lending a hand, helping his son Roth with various projects at Donaldson Park.

His long-standing passions carried right on through into retirement, culminating with a pickleball doubles gold medal championship for his age and division in the 2025 Vermont Senior Games. A lifelong lover of Jeeps, he shared one final and cherished Jeep trail run with his son and grandsons at the fall Bethel Maine Jeep Jamboree.

Court’s other interests included boating, snowmobiling, geocaching, hiking, walking and watching western TV shows and movies. He also enjoyed maintaining his and his son’s property (especially outdoors), watching his grandsons participate in their various sports activities, and making new friends wherever he went. Court felt fulfilled with his life and was deeply grateful.

He will be missed by his beloved wife, Donna G. Perry; his devoted sons, Courtland “Roth” (Elaine) Perry and Chad Michael Perry; his treasured grandsons, Courtland Daniel Perry, and Jonathan Roger Perry; his canine granddogs, Sammi and Ajax; his sister, Debbie (Earl) Kasper; his sister-in-law, Jackie (Richard “Magoo”) McCready; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Court was predeceased by his parents, Courtland E. Perry Sr., and Silvette M. Perry; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Catherine (Gordon) Wilkinson, and Ercel (Milburn “Bud”) Harvey.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the University of Vermont Medical Center and the Brigham and Women’s Hospital for their medical and spiritual care.

A celebration of Court’s life will occur this summer and will be announced at a later date.

If friends desire, memorial donations may be made to Champlain Islands Food Shelf, PO Box 24, North Hero, VT 05474 or Grand Isle Rescue, PO Box 79, Grand Isle, VT 05458.
