Colchester - Bernard H. Martin, 87, of Colchester passed away peacefully at UVM Medical Center Sunday October 26, 2025

He was born in Bristol, Connecticut on December 9, 1937, the son of Lester and Winifred (Seeley) Martin. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 62 years, Rosemarie (Faubert) Martin.

Bernard served in the US Army for three years as an Armor Crewman and was stationed in Germany where he operated an armored tank. He was very proud of his military service and told many entertaining stories of his time in the service. After the service he became a rough carpenter by trade and was in the Carpenters Union. He also worked for F.W. Whitcomb. After retiring he worked for Saint Stephens Church in Winooski as a custodian and grounds keeper for many years. He loved helping others fix cars, machinery and any home projects. He will always be remembered for his hard work and dedication to all jobs he performed.

He is survived by one sister Frances Jones, his two sons, James Martin of Colchester, and Paul L. Martin of Colchester, two grandsons, Paul Martin of Texas and Ben Martin of Colchester, and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

He was predeceased by his siblings, Winnie Thibeault, Blanche Rich, Ruby Benoit, Lester Martin, Leonard Martin, Jeannette Martin, and Gene Dumas.

Bernard enjoyed music and dancing and had many parties at his home for all to gather and have a good time. He was fun loving, witty and caring to everyone. He spent most of his time outside loving the sounds, colors and fresh air. He will be greatly missed by all who were touched by his life.

A Mass will be held at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Colchester, Vermont, on November 7, 2025 at 11:00 AM followed by procession to Fort Ethan Allen Cemetery for interment.

A proud graduate of Windsor High School, class of 1973, Alan dedicated his entire career to being a machine shop operator. His skilled hands and meticulous work ethic were hallmarks of his life, reflecting a profound commitment to his craft that earned him the respect of his peers.

Alan's heart belonged unequivocally to his wife, Lorraine Brooks. Their relationship was a beautiful partnership, characterized by love, friendship, and unwavering support for one another. In his younger years, Alan found solace and excitement in the great outdoors, indulging in his passion for hunting and fishing. These hobbies were not merely pastimes; they were moments of adventure and tranquility that reflected his love for nature and family.

Chantal Lee Gueniot

Chantal Lee Gueniot, born on April 1, 1982, in Burlington, Vermont, left this world unexpectedly on October 17, 2025, in Georgia, Vermont. As we gather to celebrate her life, we remember a woman defined by her strength, compassion, and an unwavering dedication to those she loved.

Chantal was a lead medical assistant and phlebotomist, and in recent years, she pursued her passion for healthcare further as an MRI Technology Specialist. She was not only a diligent worker, but also a warm presence who made life easier for everyone around her. Her caring spirit resonated deeply, as she had a remarkable way of welcoming others and making them feel at home. Each family gathering she hosted was a testament to her love and commitment, as she beautifully organized events that kept her loved ones connected.

Education played an important role in her journey. A proud graduate of BFA Fairfax class of 2000, she completed her schooling for MRI Technology. It was in her professions that she found immense joy, reflecting her passion for helping others in meaningful ways.

Chantal had a flair for life that shined through in everything she did. Her favorite holidays, Halloween and Christmas, were celebrated with unmatched enthusiasm, where her creativity and talent for decorating came alive. Beyond that, she found peace and joy in gardening, swimming, and immersing herself in the beauty of the outdoors. The flowers she cherished and her beloved pear trees were a reflection of her nurturing spirit.

More than her career and interests, one of her proudest accomplishments was being "Mom" to her son, Keegan Lampman. He was the light of her life and the epicenter of her world. Her relationship with Keegan was fortified with love and devotion, an embodiment of the caring person she was.

Chantal leaves behind those who will forever cherish her memory: her partner of 16 years, Robert Reynolds, and his 3 children, Chantal's stepchildren, Josh, Kaylie and Kelsey; her son, Keegan, and his partner, Katie Furlow; her loving parents, Kimberly Williams and Jean Marc Gueniot; her twin brother, Philip Gueniot; and her brother, Josh Gueniot, along with his wife, Nicole. She will be missed by her dear friends Randi Beaupre, Erica Peet. The bonds of love they shared with Chantal will never dim, as her presence will continue to illuminate their lives.

Visitation services will be held on October 24, 2025, at Minor Funeral and Cremation Center in Milton, Vermont, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. This gathering will serve as both a tribute to Chantal and a celebration of the countless lives she touched with her love, warmth, and unwavering spirit.

Chantal Lee Gueniot was an overall beautiful person—a bright light in the lives of many. Her legacy of love, compassion, and strength will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. The world is a little dimmer without her, yet her memory shines brightly in our hearts.
