Ky is incredible and I couldn’t recommend him enough. He has a steady, consistent and calm focus and as a fellow therapist I know that kind of energy is really hard to master. He’s down to earth, intuitive, and puts folks at ease instantly. I’m proud to keep working along side him at the Bloom Room. ✨ And if you must know, when I need a massage, I go to Ky.

Hey there! I’m Ky, a licensed massage therapist, born and raised in Lewes, Delaware. With over seven years of experience, I support clients in releasing tension, easing pain, and reconnecting with their bodies. Since graduating from the Academy of Massage and Bodywork in 2018, I have specialized in deep tissue, Swedish, cupping, and prenatal massage.

My practice is located at The Bloom Room at Lavender Fields, a nurturing and inclusive sanctuary where comfort, respect, and healing come first.

Known for my warm and accepting presence, I create a safe, inclusive space for every body. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I am especially mindful of comfort, respect, and affirming care.

My training includes Integrative Muscular Movement Technique, Vedic Thai bodywork, prenatal massage, and manual lymphatic drainage. This diverse background allows me to tailor each session to the unique needs of every client, whether they are seeking focused relief for specific concerns, a calm restorative experience, or a blend of both.

Outside of the studio, I find balance and inspiration in nature, walking, reading, cooking, and time spent with my wife, pets, friends, and family. These beautifully grounding experiences fuel my compassionate, mindful approach to bodywork.

What’s been your experience?

Pregnancy? That’s a roll of the dice. But many people do say they feel better

Changing hormones mean changing neutransmitters.

ADHD & autistic brains especially feel it and it’s not just emotional dysregulation

It’s memory, focus, planning, learning, time management… all of it

Don’t be hard on yourself when hormones change and you need to find a new way to exist in this world that was never made for you

Swedish massage therapy may be as therapeutically beneficial to relieve or eliminate chronic back pain as structural massage therapy, according to this study of 400 patients over 10 weeks.

“Prior studies of massage for back pain had tested only structural forms of massage, not relaxation massage. But relaxation (also called Swedish) massage is the most widely available and is taught in massage schools. It aims to promote a feeling of relaxation throughout the body. By contrast, structural massage involves identifying and focusing on specific pain-related “soft tissues” (like muscles and ligaments).”

“The massage therapists assumed structural massage would prove more effective than relaxation massage,” said Dr. Cherkin’s colleague Karen J. Sherman, PhD, MPH, a senior investigator at Group Health Research Institute. “They were surprised when patients in the relaxation group got so much relief from their back pain.”

Also at 10 weeks, a questionnaire showed nearly twice as many massage patients (around two thirds) as usual-care patients (more than one third) were functioning significantly better than at the trial’s outset. Patients in the massage groups spent fewer days in bed, were more active, and used less anti-inflammatory medication than did those with usual care.

Massage therapy helps ease chronic low back pain and improve function, according to a randomized controlled trial in the July 5 Annals of Internal Medicine. The first study to compare structural and relaxation (Swedish) massage, the trial found that both types of massage worked well, with few side e...

What is this peculiar looking lamp without a bulb, you ask?

✨It’s called a TDP Mineral Heat Therapy lamp. It uses a mineral plate coated with 33 essential minerals and generates Far Infrared waves, which ionize the minerals and penetrates the body up to three inches deep.

✨FIR improves circulation on a deep level, soothes inflammation, sore muscles, joints, spasms, and accelerates healing. It’s also warm!

✨I can see the heat waves, even though there is no visible light. When winter cold makes us feel stiff and creaky, this is a godsend.

✨It’s our favorite new healing tool at the Bloom Room and it’s included with any service!

Foundations about Fascia I want all of my clients to know. 🕸️

Fascia is a brilliant connective tissue that is woven around and connected to every single component of our form. It is a super-sensing, communicative, living web that holds us together.

It is lubricated with ground substance—an electromagnetic, thixotropic medium that both generates and conducts energy. It is our internal ocean, hydrating all our tissues for healthy flow and movement.

All of our musculoskeletal system, circulatory system, lymph system, and nerves are suspended in this ocean-nourished fascia.

All sensory nerves and sensory information is received through this matrix, making it a key component in the holistic healing process because of its supreme sensitivity to stimuli.

Understanding this is crucial for understanding how the body keeps the score. Whether trauma and stress are physical or emotional, it distorts the matrix.

The water of the body holds the memory, even if the physical structures have healed.

There are no distinct, separate layers or pieces of our form—it’s all one connected mesh.

Practices like yoga, Qi Gong, and meditation help to bridge our awareness to the connectivity of our forms, and all around us.

This is why I also have multiple approaches, with different tool kits, for working with our issues. Bodywork, to physically warm, soften, and return fluidity to dense connective tissue. And energywork, to shift parts of our consciousness stuck in trauma, and to intentionally restore our body’s water to a cohesive mix grounded state where it feels safe and whole and nourished from the earth.
